I recall that a long time ago a couple of psycho EOs created their own site and invited other psycho EOs to join in what what apparently an attempt to skewer a few notaries in some kind of vendetta. It was truly horrible some of the things they said. Totally out of control. They'd rant on and on in what had to be complete and total libel. And it wasn't anything about "missing signatures" or blurry seals. Our little one-liners in SC read like pre-school foot-stomping compared to the viciousness of their site. Anyway, I also vaguely recall there was such outrage that the site "disappeared." I'm sure there was discussion on NR about this at the time ... you could search.
I know the numbers site has an option for reporting good stuff about a notary. The notary asks somebody to write something nice and then the site owner posts it, or something like that. I guess the implication is that if you don't have anything good written about you, you either didn't ask for any or nobody would give any ....?

The coffee site also shows how many companies (but not which ones) that use their platform have you as a "preferred" notary.

You can also get bad reviews on the numbers site
too - all reviews, good or bad, or screened by the owner first - and I think he tries to mediate the bad ones

What one SS told me.
I had a problem with a signing, I forget what happened, but it didn't go well, and I could just see the borrower calling to complain about me. I called the company that hired me (LSI) and told them my side to give them a head's up. I said I was sorry, I wouldn't do it again, and I hoped that if someone called and complained that they would reconsider. They said if they dropped every notary that someone complained about, they would have no notaries working for them.

Re: What one SS told me.
And if they didn't have something to complain about, they make something up. Either they or their Realtor or LO ... most always to get out of paying the notary fee.
SS owners and TCs are used to this, as LSI told you. If just half the lies I have heard that these people tell about us were true, nothing would ever get done in the loan-signing business.
BTW, you were probably good to be proactive if you know there's going to be fallout. A SS owner once told me the first person in, wins. In other words, if you get your side of the story in first, then the other person is playing catchup.

"First person in . . .
wins!" I Like! Reminds me of the days in banking call center where occasionally a customer would have a tantrum; I'd say, "these calls are recorded." Of course, as soon as call ended, my supervisor would get an email of my complete/detailed account.

Re: What one SS told me.
I have experieinced the exact situation with LSI, and I did the same thing you did; however, LSI has been AWOL ever since I called. Used to do about 40-50/mth with them, now down to 2/mth
