Washington State notaries:
I was called by Serv.Link and asked if I was capable to do esignings and if I was even interested. My question to you: do you do them? if so, is it worth it? S.L. was willing to pay a wopping $125.00 for a refi. From all that I've read on this board, esignings are sill a PITA because you still have to print and they take longer. Furthermore, we have some remote areas here in Kitsap County. Thanks

Patti, I've completed numerous esignings and I don't consider them to be PITAs. My suggestion to you is to try doing one and determine for yourself if it's something for you to pursue. The fee does sound low for an esigning. But again, that's for you to either accept or negotiate.
Perhaps esignings will set you apart from your competition. You never know.

I've looked into it and decided (based partly on the info from doing a "search" on NR) that I did not think the amount of new business would warrant the investment. We are in different areas so if you do it I would like to know how it works out and what it cost you to set up. I am not sure how you "try one" as suggested in an earlier post. Good luck in any event.

Valid points, HSH.
What I failed to address is that most Title/Signing companies will assume that you will have your own laptop or iPad and Internet service to take to the appointment. This is why I charged more for esignings. I explained to schedulers why the higher fee and two of them agreed. That was two years ago.

Re: Valid points, HSH.
If I bought all the stuff to do an esigning I'd want more to do the signing. Plus I read that they can take longer if you are constantly getting kicked off line. I'd want my own "hot spot" and that's another $20 per month on top of a $30 data fee at Verizon. The SCs think you should do it for the same or less because of the reduced printing. I read that busy notaries can expect about 4 esignings a month. So I don't think it would be worth it.
