What is a Tax Signing

I received a call from a company asking me to do a Tax Signing. I was busy so I could not take it, but for the future I'd like to know what one is and what they entail. Can someone answer for me as I have not heard of this before. Thank You!

1. It could be that someone wants you to come over and sign as the responsible party on their 1040.

2. It could be a CPA who needs some help putting up the sign in front of his new office.

3. More likely, it is a loan taken out against real estate to pay property taxes, with the tax collector transferring his rights of collection (which are superior in some respects to those of the typical lender) to the private lender.

They are quite common in Texas, and not at all taxing on the NSA.

I do the same "tax signing" in N Central Texas as Hugh does in Central (Austin area) Texas, They are about 50 pages, about 6 notay certs. About 20 minutes. Most we can set our own time when we get the docs. The docs is not date sensitive.
It called very easy.

Not sure they are the same. Does this sound the same: 9 to 12 pages with a Tax Defense Contract, Payment Schedule and Debit Authorization, no notarizations needed just witness the completion and collect the documents.
