Wrong delivery

Uggggh, ever send a package to the wrong company?

I have not had that happen to me, but others have posted about this.

My solution, which has worked for me so far, is to print 2 copies of the shipping label.

One goes on the outside of the envelope and the other is placed on top of the signed docs. By matching up the labels as I am preparing my shipping packages, I ensure that I am shipping the right set of docs to the right company.

All that being said - make sure you follow up and get

the correction made and the package properly delivered as soon as possible. It is on YOU to make this right.

Being a mobile notary means having to say you're sorry

MUCH has been posted here about misdirected packages, Angela. Since you didn't offer any details, it's impossible to give you any real help .. except to say if it's currently in transit with FedEx you can call and have them reroute it. Other than that, do a search on how to handle it if it has reached its (wrong) destination.

Luckily, the only time this happened to me is when the SS gave me the wrong shipping information. It seems the title companies (the correct one) was across the street from each other.

Print docs, remove air bill and place on shipping envelope, clip envelope to printed docs with binder clip.

Wth several emails and phone calling it's finally straight. I am the type to do the research and get on the ball. Man, what a twisted day. Lesson learned!! Thanks for the tips! (I'm sure it's 5:00 somewhere?)

I write on the airbill the borrowers last name, so I can double check the last names before I insert in envelope.

My friend that has a SS, and tries to only use experienced NSA’s has it happen at least once a week. Always double check your work at the table, which includes putting the proper liable on the proper envelope/box. I seal mine before I leave, but yes I know there are sometimes fax-backs for purchases/second homes, etc., in which case I put the entire package/envelope/label in a large manila envelope, keeping everything together for later. Take your time! It takes seconds to seal the envelope, and place the label….seconds out of hours of work….take an extra 10 seconds and check! JMO

As I said it is a common occurrence. If you fixed it or at least tried there should be no problem, depending on the company. If they need someone in your area they will probably call again. My friend uses people that make mistakes, especially those that learn from them. Those that lie about it, or just blow it off, she doesn’t call again. Good luck!

Hope so. I'm waiting on docs now to which I emailed and called about them. I have a signing in exactly an hour and have over 30 min t get there. They said they are waiting on the HUD approval.

Thank you for the encouragement!

And........? Was she fooled to believe that you were an honest, adoring, faithful, obedient, loving, giving, true to your vows spouse? Or did she see your dark heart and eager unbridled libido, only lusting for momentary immediate gratification? I assume this was years ago when your wit wasn't as dull as your pencil?
