continuous marriage affidavit

Any one know why Geniune Title has a continuous marriage affidavit? It is included in all documents. Even if the signers have never been married!

It's not just Genuine Title - many companies use that form

I've seen it in various packages, none of them through Genuine Title.

And I guess my answer is "cuz they're the title company, that's why?" When it comes to title docs and affidavits, they call the shots.

Do you have them cross out the wording and sign or what?

Doesn't it ask " has or has not been continuously married"?

They should read the Affidavit and complete it to the best of their ability - or ask title how they want it done. It may well be since he's single they won't need it.

I have very few single signers here - not been a problem for me.

It does not ask "has or has not been continuosly married" It says "legally married to each other"

Just for conversation...

I've never seen one of these (thank goodness). However, be that as it may, what would you do, If the signer(s) responds in a manner not consistent with the drawing and vesting of the loan documents?

With people trying to redefine marriage,

I guess this individual could be married to him or herself!

I actually know what this affidavit means

Years ago, I did a lot of Trans Continential Title Co loans, and I asked them what does this
mean because so many people (inluding myself) had no idea what it meant?

It means that from the time the husband & wife filled out their loan application, they hadn't seperated or divorced?

I don't know if this is what this affidavit means in 2012 but that is what it mean in the early 2000's.
