Apostle assistance asap. Sylvia and Linda H.???

Hi all.

I need help. I had a call for an Apostle at one time a few years ago. I remember PAW had told me that he would do it for me if I ever needed them as Notaries Public are not allowed to do them.

I recall someone said that they would take over for him.

Was that Sylvia or maybe Linda?

An Apostle is one of Jesus' disciples. I believe you are asking about an Apostille?

Apostille is a french word that means "certification". Your SOS usually does the Apostille before a document is sent to another country who is a member of the Hague Convention.

Information included in an apostille (example)
An apostille issued by Norwegian authorities. The apostille itself is a stamp or printed form consisting of 10 numbered standard fields. On the top is the text APOSTILLE, under which the text Convention de La Haye du 5 octobre 1961 (English: Hague Convention of 5 October 1961) is placed. In the numbered fields the following information is added:

1.Country ... [country name]
This public document
2.has been signed by ... [name]
3.acting in the capacity of ... [function]
4.bears the seal/stamp of ... [authority]
certified
5.at ... [location]
6.the ... [date]
7.by ... [name]
8.No ... [apostille registration number]
9.Seal/stamp ... [of the authority giving the apostille]
10.Signature ... [signature of authority giving the apostille]
The information can be placed on the (back of the) document itself, or attached to the document as an allonge.

[edit] Eligible documentsFour types of documents are mentioned in the convention:[1]

court documents
administrative documents (e.g. civil status documents)
notarial acts
official certificates which are placed on documents signed by persons in their private capacity, such as official certificates recording the registration of a document or the fact that it was in existence on a certain date and official and notarial authentications of signatures

I usually let the party know that if I can legally notarize their document, that they can then send it to the SOS for the Apostille. Here it costs $25 to the SOS, and depending upon whether they travel to the capitol to stand in line, or mail it, it can take up to 2 weeks to complete.

BTW, thanks to those that were gracious enough to

correct my spelling of Apostille. I'm happy that I brought up the topic. You all were very informative.

And though the religious reference was a fact, it's probably a topic best suited for leisure (IMO). I personally was not offended (I chuckled a bit as I didn't realize the correct spelling or pronunciation until Sylvia said it.) but I try to be cognizant of it's very sensitive nature, especially in light of the worlds situation at this point.

Of course this is all my very humble opinion. I still love ya...lol..thanks for sharing!

Re: BTW, thanks to those that were gracious enough to

I personally would make you the 13th apostle... or Apostille. whichever. How have you been?

Just checking in.... I think I am getting too serious on the forum lately. I might take a break. Think I might have sent a subliminal jab at livewire about her million dollar a week salarly. So I better lay low for while.

I know a couple notaries that assist with this process

and charge $300-$400 for it. I have not chartered these waters yet, but I haev been thinking about adding it to my services offered.
