Awesome Monthend!

Turned a lot of work away this month, lowballers, too many faxbacks, or too far out of the way to accommodate with existing schedule. Worked yesterday from 7am to 10pm. Dropped into bed at 1am after getrting all my completion reports done before crashing.

My last signing was a refi of lovely home here in Santa Maria wine country. Lovely woman who's husband was killed in a headon car crash in 1984. They were both radio broadcasters here in the Valley. Her husband succombed to chest injuries the following day, she had severe head injurites but has overcome all obstacles. Get this, folks. She's 80 years old, bright as can be, and she built the house on the property she and her husband bought together before he passed. Some one veered over the center divider from the opposite direction. Life shattering for her. She had three sons to raise and constructed her home, which kept her busy, while still broadcasting, What a spirit, huh. Talk about perservering. They had been married 20 years and she has never remarried, but flies monthly to visit her children/grandchildren all over the US, while she can as she says!

Our appt was at 7:30pm, we started signing at 9pm, I left her at 10pm as she had made a pot of delicious coffee, and we talked about everything under the sun. She is Norwegian too,
it was the perfect way to end a crazy busy day and I was only 10 miles from home. She walks five miles a day and goes to the gym daily. What a gal!

Next week I'm signing two purchase loan packages for a major television star we all know well, have grown up with, he is my age. I'm very excited because I feel like I've known him for years through his work and through his philanthropic activities and fundraising. It's amazing the people you meet in this business.

Of course, there are some I would as soon not met, but thankfully they are in the 5% sect.

I hope you all had an awesome monthend. Buckle up, the rest of the year is going to be hair raising.

Cheers!

I love hearing the good part of this, as we all know there is enough bad. I too have met some lovely, interesting people and have been in some beautiful homes, best part of the job. I love those interesting elders who have weathered the storms. Hubby and I hope to do Napa next year, must be like heaven.

I think the story was lovely. When your able to touch someone's life and in turn receive a warm welcome, I appreciate those moments. I would love to read your book!

Touching someone's life is one thing, but to post the details, without the Borrower(s) permission on the Internet is wrong, even if the identity of the borrower(s) is/are not named. It is nothing less than an invasion of the borrower's privacy.

Uh.... do you have any idea who she's talking about? I sure don't. I think care was taken about which details were given and which were not, so I don't really see any harm done in this case. And it did make for some interesting reading about something other than notary stuff, which CAN get a bit boring from time to time, no? Wink

Re: It's wrong to post the details, I'll tell you that much

Thank you Claire. I have complete literary license by the people I contact and do notary work for.

You'll love this. When I ask borrowers, what was the date of your marriage and in what state, as we're filling out the statement of information, and then ask, "so, how's it going?", I get the best responses...They laugh, I laugh, they tell me their story. I ask, do you mind if I put this story in my book...I've never had anyone say, NO, never, absolutely not.

I'm sorry, we have some very dry, detached folks on the forum. LIGHTEN UP you negative people. Get a grip. People love to talk about themselves. I've never been accused about violating their privacy, on the contrary. It breaks the ice.

Sorry, you soothsayers need to get a grip and quit jumping at the chance to be negative and act like you are so superior. YOU'RE OFFENSIVE. UNFRIENDLY, WHO NEEDS IT!

I would never divulge the notariety I do work for, it is unbelievable the ppl I meet. You'll never see me talk about their speciic IDs, and there are three signers for two sets of documents. They are all high profile and I respect their privacy.

The negative posters on this subject can put it where the sun doesn't shine. You're picky and unprofessional, sorry...I had several PMs on this subject and truthfully many agree with me, you're not any fun...actually you're a PITA. If you don't have anything nice to say...

Re: It's wrong to post the details, I'll tell you that much

You go Girl! >Big Smile< I wholeheartedly agree with you. I'm a people person, and I'm in the line of working with all different walks of life. I too enjoy meeting new interesting people while on the job. It makes my day enjoyable. Those naysayers, and negative people obviously do not understand the power of positive thinking (Dr. Norman Vincent Peale). When I was actually reading those comments of not posting information, I actually laughed out loud. My boyfriend was watching a rerun of some adventure movie while I was on the computer and he asked, "What is so funny?" Anyways, We all know you didn't give out ANY personal information. People who get it, understand that your story was meant to bring a smile to everyone who read it.

Where can I get your book? Amazon?

I know most of this was directed at me, Cheryl..

Maybe what you need to note is I was responding not to you, but to Karla who said "I hope you will post the details after the movie star signing"

And I'm sorry, but I stand by what I said..that would be wrong.

JMHO

Soothsayer, I don't know. But I, for one, will continue to live vicariously through you from Brooksville.
