That has not been my experience - they are at 45+ days with me right now for a job I completed in July 2012. I have emailed Betty and left a voice message for Brian last week with NO RESPONSE. I will never work with them again. Job was a PITA to boot.

I sent my invoice back in package as instructed - no payment yet. When I took the job they had mixed reviews. Guess I was one of the unlucky ones.

I called BCHH again this AM. Brian was not in so I asked to speak with someone else. I was told the file didn't fund. The guy I spoke with asked me to email him a copy of my invoice and he would forward to the owner for payment from their operating account. I will post an update when/if that is received.

Do you have a clerk of the court site to check to see if files fund? that far out, it should have been recorded. I always check before calling and possibly hearing that excuse.

They don't post that online here as far as I know
unless you have a paid account. I can look up property records and see who owns what property, what it's assessed at, what the purchase price was and when it was purchased. But as far as seeing recorded DOT's, no I'm not aware of being able to view that online. That would be sooooo helpful (and interesting) if I could!

Re: They don't post that online here as far as I know
For us in Florida, it is Clerk of the Court, whatever County your mtg is filed. It is nice - entire history of properties, etc. going back though the 60's I believe. Perhaps earlier, but I don't know how much archiving they have accomplished yet. The only thing that is not public record is child custody stuff and marital dispute type things, although one can see that something may be there, just not exactly what. We have wonderful records access here.

Payment finally rec'd at 72 days, with several reminders
BCHH called me the other day asking me to do a closing - I told the girl that I would not accept another closing since they still owed me for that last one over two months prior. I finally received payment in full at 72 days, but I will never do another closing for them - ever.

I just reveived a call from them offering me two closing in Maryland . Monday and Wednsday. I read mixed reviews. Do you ever ask yourself, "how can someone be so great, wonderfull, and at the same time, "horrible, terrible,,, sounds like the wife and the X. Any other thoughts?

Sometimes the mixed reviews are because the TC/SS has shills posting good reviews for them, hoping to drown out the real reviews from those who have actually dealt with them. There's even a website where you can hire people for $5 to post a bogus review (or do just about anything else).
In this case, we have long-time respected NR members reporting conflicting experiences. I would trust what they say over the word of someone who has never posted before. One had a problem, the other two reported being paid quickly. Based on that, I would take the chance and accept the jobs - but hold off on accepting more until the check arrives.

My theory
I think sometimes companies start out good with good intentions, but then they get overwhelmed. OR, they are good to a new notary, until the notary is taking jobs without worrying, then they stop sending the checks. When I was new, I loved SOX: they gave me lots of work and they paid me on time. Then the checks trickled off, but the jobs kept coming. I would call and they would make their empty promises and I believed that the check was in the mail. It took me a while to catch on, and by that time, they owed me a LOT of money.

Re: My theory
I agree with your theory. I, too, enjoyed working with SOX at the time. I got plenty of business with them and the payments were always on time, for a short while. I also think that as a company grows, there tends to be too many hands in the pot and the left hand doesn't always know (or care) what the right hand is doing.

Thats my plan, I will let everyone know how it works. Funny I am scheduled to do a closing today @ 12:00pm. No word, no call, no response to my emails. I called the borrower and she said she got a call from TC stating they are still working on the file and final HUD. My thought is that it shows "me", how unimportant I am . Is this the answer I was looking for. After all I have no other important things to do today but wait by my phone,,,,,,,, not

That's one reason mine was a PITA. Late docs, it messed up my schedule (I thought I could still do it without making myself late for my other appointments, but I was wrong as it ran long); so many instructions sent with the docs, and none of the title aff's are filled out with borrower names and address. All those things = PITA.

Don't trust BCHH. I know what your thinking. It's the same thing I thought. "I'm going to take a chance. There's some bad reviews but there are good ones as well. Maybe those notaries screwed up somehow." Don't be fooled by the owner Betty's sweet country voice. She knows how to lure you in. After you take the 1st one, she'll pay you quickly then she'll hit you with a few closings at one time and your thinking "SCORE!" Um not quite. If not getting paid isn't bad enough, their loan packages are HUGE!!!! Not kidding. The 1st one was about 180 pages. I had one that was about 270 pages no joke. Plus there is a lot of affadavits so it's more work for us to notarize. Easily 2 to 3 times as many docs to be notarized than a standard package. I am still owed for one closing. I had to chase and threaten to get paid on the other ones and they took 90+ days. They also have a lot of screw ups on their end which I don't like because it jeopardizes your pay. Boycott BCHH
