BOSTON NATIONAL TITLE IS THE BEST

Like many notaries, I have not received payment from Aurelio Ortiz from Precision Signing Services for a closing I did back in June. I called Boston National to let them know. They took my information down and said they would call back. Karen Koehler called me a few days later and explained to me that they will pay me what Dead Beat Ortiz had agreed to pay me. Today I received an email from her with a copy of the check that they are sending to me. Boston National went above and beyond their call of duty by taking care of their notaries, even though it was not their responsibility. Thank you to Boston National's management and to Karen for their professionalism and help.

Thanks for writing that glowing review. I would have written the exact same thing but you beat me to it. Karen and Boston National have really stepped up to the plate to ensure that we are all paid. I really felt it was going to be a significant loss for me and was shocked when not only did she give him a quick deadline to pay but went ahead and paid us. I hope Boston National can recover what they paid out to Precision, probably grand larceny.

I believe that they still owe Ortiz for the month August and they are withholding that payment and using that money to pay the notaries. This is what I am assuming. It would make sense.

Hoping you did a "Copy and Paste"with regards to your post and sent it to the appropriate Escrow Officer via eail. She/He allowed ethics vs law to rule. How Great is That :-) Congratulations. :-)

Several people have posted that BN stepped up to pay

them because of the situation with Precision Signing. Kudos to them for stepping up to that, because they really weren't required to do that. They have several large accts. & I'm sure they don't want any bad blood with the notaries. Again, congrats to everyone who was able to collect what was owed them. :-)

Well, I’m sorry to be the only Billy Goat Gruff in the crowd, but if Boston National Title hired a signing service, and the signing service didn’t pay the subcontractors, isn’t it Boston National Title’s responsibility to pay the notaries and take the signing service to task on their own behalf?

A tip 'o the hat to them, and I’m glad you received payment.

You know, I've been a signing agent since 2007 and this is the first time a title company has stepped up to the plate and stood by the notaries. Usually, by the time the notaries call the title companies to notify them of non payment, they have already paid the agency they hired and they just simply wash their hands and walk away. It's unfortunate. Every year I am the victim of some dead beat company out there, but mostly of companies that I did tons of work for with no problems and then suddenly they close their doors and run off with my hard earned money, such as Carly from Advantage Closers and Paul Gambs from Pacific Documents. We are lucky that BNT is working with the notaries.

I have to agree with you, Esther. I have the same experience

with these companies, and, I daresay, so has almost everyone else.

This is unusual, but blessed relief for those who were hoodwinked. Now, TC needs to go after Aurelio Ortiz full speed ahead to recoup their losses.

Maybe someone who has been stiffed by Aurelio Ortiz can

contact the local TV investigative reporters to do an story.

Most members of the public are not aware of who hires the notary that comes to their home to facilitate their closing.

I have to heartily disagree, Stoli. Any contract entered into was with Precision Signings, not BNT and (in my opinion) they have no legal responsibility to pay you after they have met their obligation by paying Ortiz. I, like the others have been paid by BNT and they have certainly earned my respect and loyalty through their actions. Karen Kroeler was given the job of making this right and the day I spoke with her she said she had 24 Notaries to contact.....just that day!
Let's put the kudos where they belong....Thanks BNT and bless you, Karen.

I was also a victim of the non-payment fiasco of Precision Signing. Boston National and Karen indeed went above and beyond with respect to this matter. This was my first non-payment incident and was quite relieved that the outcome was positive.

That was the same as my experience. The best part was the check arrived a couple days later, as promised.
