California Journal requirements
A journal must include: " A statement as to whether the identity of the person making an acknowledgment or taking an oath or affirmation was based on satisfactory evidence."
Do you California notaries write in your journals " satisfactory evidence"? After I verify the identity of the person (s) signing with their drivers licence, signature and thumb print, I don't write anything in my journal about the identity of the person was based on satisfactory evidence. It's obvious because of the information in my journal. How do you California notaries handle this requirement?
Marian has already shown me that seperate lines are required for each notarization. So I have to admit that I've been filling out my journal incorrectly. My current journal is almost full so based on Marian's information I ordered a case of journals.

The "statement" is based or relied upon by how you document their identity; by Photo ID, DL, Credible Witness....which will include the ID #'s, dates of expiration or issuance, etc. This IS considered the SATISFACTORY EVIDENCE requirement.
