Chase Loans....New Requirement effective Oct 1
Anyone know anything about this Evidence Form that Chase is now requiring for all loans?
Apparently all docs need to be described, the number of pages, time or notarization, etc.
I'm calling my contact at LSI to find out more.
Ridiculous.

Re: B'bye Chase
LSI Chase Team doesn't know anything about it.
I just emailed them the doc. This came out from LSI Vendor Management. All they said is that they knew that all notaries need a BACKGROUND CHECK!
Dah!

I haven't seen it, but
BOA has a form that shows all the docs/described. Is this something to fill out, or something to compare to docs?

Just read it
Looks like a PITA. Listing the Notarized docs is only a small part of it...

Re: Just read it
I just asked for LSI to create a prefilled in list of the Chase docs....then we can check the box!
If they won't do that, then I will create my own PDF file so that I don't have to list each doc each time.......
I wonder what's behind this.......

Make a copy.of the form. Write or type in repetitious info including names of documents.
Make copies.
I work for a state agency. I am a redundant form and red tape expert.

Yes I got the email - I am not thrilled!!!!!!
Why can't they pre-populate the form with the notarized docs? Heck, why can't they prepopulate the form with all the info - borrower info and notary info? LSI is one of my two lowest paying clients - what incentive is there for me to do this extra clerical work?
I like the idea of copying the form.
Geeze what will they think of next?

What will they think of next . . .
Mandatory escrow/title for us VA notaries!! (Seems inevitable . . . )
I think most changes (incl the BGC) is going to have to come from State level - IMO

I'm not happy about this, but
I converted the PDF file to word and saved it. I will fill it in and store it and if LSI insists on doing this, I will complete the file with the borrowers information and print it. There should be extra pay for this newest requirement.

If you say something the wrong way it is considered legal advise. Hope LSI legal is combing this over.

LOL I'm glad I haven't seen any Chase loans. Almost everything I'm going is WF, coming from many different tc's, of course. IMO it's important to remember that they can request it of you but you can decide if it's worth the effort to sign those loans or not.

Fed up with it all
So fed up with ridiculous requirements buried in documents that are sent to us late with no time to review before print-and-run...increasing the risk that we might miss some requirement and the penalty is on us if we do...no skin off Lender/Title/SS backs. I've started turning back jobs when I haven't received documents 3 hrs before...2 hrs before at the very latest. (But I always notify borrowers that the late docs have created a scheduling conflict for me and there will probably be another notary bringing their docs.) Tired of having to reschedule other jobs because of late docs. I believe in the saying "There is no such thing as a 'rush job'. Poor planning on your [lender/title/ss] part does not constitute an emergency on my part." And this latest Chase requirement just ices the cake! Yes, we should definitely up our fees for Chase closings. I'm fortunate that I don't have to rely on this income to make a living. I've decided to start phasing down my signing agent services and re-activate (after many many moons!) my marriage services. Don't have to wait for docs, don't have to print 200-300 pages, and don't have to worry that I might have missed something even though I've triple-checked it before sending out (the only time I have OCD!). At weddings, everybody's happy...and often I get a meal, cake, and champagne! LSI is moving down on my list of favorite clients.

Re: Fed up with it all
I stopped doing loan signings about a year ago and I sure don't miss it. Reading about this new requirement that adds an extra layer of paperwork (but probably won't increase the pay) makes me glad I was able to give up the signing business. I sure don't miss it.

The good news. In the typical Chase file, the only dox
that require notarization are the the mortgage/DOT and the signature/name affidavit

This appears to be a Chase form so all I am going to do
is list the Chase docs. LSI has a lot of instructions on their four-page signing agent instruction sheet that they don't really mean literally how it reads on the page. For example, AFAIK they only need a copy of ID for the Wells Fargo loans. I don't get copies of ID for any of the other lenders I do through LSI unless I receive a specific instruction to do so. Other than that, all LSI requires is that their ID form be completed.
Another example, their four-page instructions say to obtain borrower initials on last page of Note, DOT, and 4506T. That is a Chase-specific instruction, yet they have it generically listed on their four-page blanket instructions that they send out on every loan.
IMHO, LSI is not known for their clarity in instructions. Look at how many times they have revised that email confirmation request that they send on the day of closing.

I do signings for Chase through TRG, Title Source, First American Sig Services and have NOT been instructed by these title companies of this form. HMMMM. Seems funny that we haven't had the same instructions from them if Chase is requiring it on Monday....
