Fake identity database
Whenever I get a call for services and the caller doesn't leave a name, I use Google to find out as much as I can for future reference. Today, I came across www.xdd.org. This is a database full of fake identities. It includes names, DOB, address, SSN, phone numbers, credit card numbers, etc. My mind almost went into overload before I realized there is a watermark on the website that is hard to read about this information being fake. There is an FAQ at the bottom of the webpage and it talks some mumbo-jumbo about fake identities being safer than real identities. Supposedly this information is randomly generated, none of the number/address/name combinations are true or belong to a real living person. I don't know what impact it has had or will have on identity theft in the future, but I thought I'd share. This is scary, if you ask me.
