Printing on the go.
Tired of having signing schedule wrecked by ss who don't gets docs to me until last minute and/ or wasting time hanging around hoping all docs get in before starting my daily schedule. What is the best strategies for doing mobile printing ?

There is plenty info in this chatroom. I used to print mobile changed cars and haven't installed another inverter. It will cost about $1,000.00 including installation. Good Luck

hmmm, I bought a power inverter for my van years ago at Radio Shack for about $100. It plugs into the lighter socket and I move it to whatever vehicle I need it in.

What are the advantages? Value adds?
I understand that it allows one to print on the go and possible obtain more business. Are there any disadvantages?

Nobody's gonna pay you more because you can print in your car. The 'advantage' is in not having to go home to print....assuming you have a way to download docs--smart phone, tethering, laptop. Better be SURE that your inverter is pure sine (whatever that is...I'm parroting what I've read here) or you run the risk of frying your car's battery. It's expensive to do (& do again when you get a new car). You're still going to have to take the printer out every night, park in the shade so you don't fry it--or freeze it as seasons change, probably pull over somewhere while printing... I dunno... never entertained the idea, but those are the things that come to mind.

Re: What are the advantages? Value adds?
I know I read this on NR one day ... and if I ever planned to do remote printing, which I never will..... I'd search out these earlier posts; but basically, to avoid inverter costs pack your printer in one of those rolling carts/cases and roll it in to a place where they'll "allow" you to use (aka "steal" ) their electricity and discreetly print. I'm thinking a library branch, Starbucks (anything goes there as far as I can see), a big hotel lobby or hotel/motel business room, where they'll think you're a guest, even FedEx, where people are always plugging in their laptops. They pay for internet time; you could pay for printing time. Anyway, use your imagination... I think I even read somebody printed at the borrowers' home. I wouldn't recommend that.

Re: What are the advantages? Value adds?
I just printed at a borrowers home last week. My gut told me that I was not going to have enough time to go back home and print between signings. My first for the day was a purchase at a RE office and I know how they can go sometimes. My 2nd was only 6 miles from there and it was just silly to drive all the way back home. I took my laptop and my small backup printer. I called the borrower and she was wireless so we tapped into hers and printed away. I can't justify spending the money for an installed invertor plus looking to change vehicles soon. I learned though that in searching for a wireless connection that there are many out there that are not password protected. I could have tapped into any number of her neighbors. She and I both found that interesting.

I should have added that I meant I would not recommend printing at a borrower's home as a matter of routine. If docs are running late and both the borrowers and you are anxious to get things done, then I'm sure they will appreciate - and probably be amazed - to see their docs coming hot off the press.
