Would You Have Done It Different . . .
(DARN, hit the enter key too early . . .)
Scenario: Two affidavits to be signed by two hospital medical records clerks.
The verbiage in one doc says, "Attached to this affidavit are _____ pages of records . . ."
The other doc says, "Attached to this affidavit are _____ pages of records . . . . "
The clerks filled in the blanks but were not able to hand over the medical records to send back with the affidavits without a release to do so - understandable. I was not comfortable returning signed/notarized affidavits to the attorney that say docs are attached when in fact they were not (they were going to be shipped separately by the hospital clerks.
In the end, the clerks KEPT the signed affidavits and will FedEx them on Monday WITH the copied records (we called the hiring company to get their approval to do this).
If the unfortunate happens and the docs get separated from the affidavits then I don't want it coming back on me as in, what did you do with them???????
I TOTALLY documented the scenario in my journal and paperwork so I'm going to let go and hope for the best. This scenario could possibly come up again. I would like to know if YOU would do the same or not.
Thanks.
