Background check rant
I had my BGC completed thru NotRot and have been told by several companies it isn't good enough. (REALLY??) So I had it ran thru Lexis Nexis. Since there are more than 1 of "me", their website would NOT let me complete the form as several of the addresses have never been mine. I had to CALL Lexis Nexis so they could push it thru. The gentleman I spoke to told me that I should answered the address questions as YES. (Which meant I would have been lying). I feel sorry for someone named "John Smith" needing a BGC thru Lexis Nexis! Now I am being told by a couple of companies that I need to have BGC's ran thru their companies @ a fee of $25.00 as NotRot & Lexis Nexis isn't "acceptable"! HOLY HECK! I could spend a small fortune having these darn things ran! I am wondering when my name will get "flagged" by Big Brother for having too many BGC's ran!

I have always gotten my background check thru the NNA. I have NEVER had another company question where my check comes from. Just a thought.....................

And this blant advertizing of a non-productive for profit organization. If yoy like xyz so well, why don't you go on thier chat board and the the world how great they are. Wait til you get wrong information from them when looking for answers to notary guestions.

I have been told by several title companies that I need to get an additional background check by a company that they work with. Starting to think this is a gimmick to get more business for the security check companies. I now hold 3 background checks with 3 different companies.

I will agree to any background check anyone wants…..so long as they pay for it. Otherwise, use the one I provide (free of charge) or call someone else. Simple.

Yes I agree. I am now after 7 years in business being asked for another background check other then NR. I also think their is a finical kickback from other BGC providers. I am holding my position unless they want to pay for it

I carry one background check. They run me through all the state and local databases. I refuse to purchase any additional checks or to give anyone my ssn to run one of their own on me. They either accept it or they don't.

I complained about company asking for background check and someone told me to suck it up and pay, did I nope lol i just went to the next company. Will i ever get a BGC for company i doubt it. In California you have to have a clean backgorund and we have to do life scan so i feel that i dont need to pay anyone or any company for an additional background check. So if you figure out witch one BGC that all the company's agree on please let me know.

My personal problems with BGC's.
I hold a Security Clearance from my military days. That Security clearance was done by the FBI. They spent 10K to get this done, albeit years ago, but that clearance is for lifetime! That clearance was conducted after interviewing the police in my town, my neighbors, and my employer to determine my overall character. Think that means anything? Nope, now I need some fly by night company that does nothing more than search the internet to determine wether or not I have an unpaid parking ticket? What is wrong with this picture?
