Dead in the water.............
Not sure why but I was getting calls for signings at least 2 to 3 times a week but it has been a month and not even one "missed" call. Is there a lull in the action in Colorado Springs or what?? I just can't figure out why (my fee is competitive, my phone number has not changed) I beginning to think I have been black listed, if there is such a thing in this game. Any suggestions?? I have contacted the 4 and 5 star signing companies and I work for three of them regularly.

Contact other notaries in your area. Maybe
it's your area. Parts if NC were very slow last month

I f you know how to read the "legend" on the coffee site, you'd be able to tell (sometimes). There numbers (competition) will change while yours stay the same. The person under me, accepting low fees has taken ALL the work away. 46 vs 0 for me. check out 94607

I just checked. You are right James. It looks like two of the most respected SS's could be using low ball NSA's

I think the "dead water" moves around. It was dead for me a month or so ago and now I am OK (not great) and others are dead. I know my fees are higher than some in my area so I am kind of an overflow guy. I had one scheduler tell me I was her 18th call as she worked her way up the fee schedule. So 17 local (cheaper) notaries had to be booked solid for her to get to me. I do think the refi biz is on a downward slope and the sale biz will pick up but not enough to make up the loss in volume.

No calls - 3 simple reasons ..
1. One or more notary signing agents are operating in your area and marketing and working for less than your lowest fee.
2. Mortgage application pipeline has slowed or stalled for your area, either temporary or long term. X number of residential homes in your area; how many times can the homeowners refinance the same property for minimal cash out or no costs before the gravy train stalls (particularly important when changing lenders and must come up with $x,xxx real property tax payment that original lender holding and will use toward payoff of existing mortgage rather than tax payment).
3. You will see more competition soon. NEW "notary signing agents" coming out of the pipeline now and in June: lots of advertising that this industry needs more NSAs - good career with independence, freedom and earn a living setting your own time and fee structure doing this - routine work with BIG NET PROFITS. Note: The large national organization in conjunction with title & signing companies is having a BIG conference in June targeting one-stop-shopping of "new career, get trained and certified, and sign up for work" at its conference.
