Is UPS Taking Over The World?

When I started in '06, 90% of all my packages were returned FedEx. Today, 90% of all packages are UPS. Many of the t/c's I've been working with for years who were strictly FE are now UPS. Personally I prefer FE because it's so much easier to snag supplies. Anyone else noticing this?

Every one of the packages I have returned have all been FedEx.... In my rural area they closed the FedEx Kinkos so saturday mail is not possible anymore. I would prefer UPS.

May be UPS is trying to become more competive and build up thier coffers before their union employees stricke at the end of May if they do not get a new contract by then.

I prefer Fed Ex too. Had to drive all over the place this morning trying to find a drop box that had shipping supplies in it. I have noticed the switch to UPS as well.

Get an account

Then you can order supplies online and they will drop them at your door.

I havent noticed any difference in shipping carriers for my regulars, but what I have noticed is UPS envelopes are smaller by a tad, and that the envelopes seem to be quite thinner than previously.....I have been using packing tape on them as Im afraid they will tear easily or I have been using the Pak's instead.......

FEDEX has become soooo expensive, many SAs are going to UPS, even though their tracking system is not as good as FEDEX....there are compromises in lieu of more solid infrastructure and timely service.

Can someone please tell me what n/m means? This is the only forum I've ever been on that uses it.

Bottom line, UPS has cheaper rates. Fed ex cut back box locations and raising prices and cut back on later pick up times. Not sure why they are doing this, but it is hurting their business and helping UPS for sure. UPS is okay (wish they had later pick up times), but they never stock their boxes, so must have an account to get supplies delivered, and ALWAYS make sure that if you have to write a return label, to never use your own information, and use the buyers info, because they love to back charge the sender if the number is wrong or whatever they do not like.

I hope not. I'm afraid they'd lose it.
