JMT Document Service
Good outfit. Easy to work with. However, they want to pay same rate for 2 sets of docs as they do for 1 set of docs. Doesn't make sense to me. Any input about how you handle this?

Your in the Wrong Business!
I am not trying to sound coarse here but if you have to ask that question, you in the wrong business!
You simply say your not interested in their order for such a low fee and quote yours, then say goodbye. Oh and don't forget to end the call.

Hi Bullsfan I am sorry that someone would imply that you are in the "wrong business" You either are new in the business or perhaps you have never encountered this situation.
As was just stated -- you ask JMT for more money. What type of loans? etc etc etc Wish you well
God blessings to you Ignore the insulting comments that sometimes come out on here.

I work for them sometimes, and like their company. I simply tell them when they call what my fee will be, and either they get it approved and I do the job, or they don't approve it and don't call back. This way, I'm happy and they are happy.

Pricing is easy folks. Dollars per hour drive time to and from, closing time, print time, toner and deprecation, travel at .55 cents per, fax backs. Do you work for min. Wage? Many other expenses are out there, i.e. paper, pens phone, pc I just build into my hour fee for fast costing.

Seems you may be new at this, BullsFan. So here's my recommendation - as I'm no veteran, either: Draft a "cheat sheet" for Order information, taking into consideration such things as travel/mileage, time of day, # of files, size of file(s), fax backs, # of borrowers, etc..
Then email to hiring party (form should be simple enough to complete in 2-3 minutes). Once you get the form back, you'll have a good idea what to charge for your time/effort.
Until you get the hang of which questions to ask, maybe just over-bid a bit initially.
btw, TWO sets of printed copies are standard
