This is for general notary work? We get $2.00 per acknowledgement and 31 Cents a mile. I've been stood up and stiffed too many times. I only notarize for seniors needing poa/etc.

Agreed, it sure can be...

California has the lowest number of notaries, per capita, in the country. It's super difficult to find one, and a lot of people realize that having the notary come to them is worth the cost.

I can make more with GNW in a day than with loan work. Plus, payment is immediate... usually always in cash. If they pay by card, I have access to the fund either immediately or the next business day. NO waiting around for 30-60+ days and chasing down money for a 3-4 hour job.

Yesterday I earned enough cash, in just a couple GNW appointments to equal my April car payment and insurance expenses.

Re: GNW very profitable in CA

Because I advertise in the yellow pages and a variety of internet sites, I get a lot of calls for GNW. Last Friday evening I was called to help a couple who was selling a property. They had been sent the paperwork, with no prior instructions that they needed a notary, and told that everything needed to be signed and returned ASAP. I had the opportunity to help them understand a couple of the docs they were signing because of my experience as an NSA, and collected $50 to meet them at my husband's office, plus another $10 to drop the package at Fed-X. No printing, no waiting for payment. $60 cash in hand.

My husband and I went to dinner after that.
