I have only done a few for them over the years, but yesterday got an e-mail that they will be "locking out" of their system notaries whose fees are over their $90 "limit" (mine is much higher). They are trying to cut down on their overhead, so are trying to keep our fees down. Apparently, there are notaries in PA who are working for $80-85 per job! You would have to be next door to me for me to do the job for that fee. E-mail went on about how they need to save money and also detailed how they are assigning closings, and as such would I be willing to "lower my fee for a month or so to see if I get more jobs from them and we can revisit this issue in about 2 months". Really?? Can I tell PECO (my electric company) and Comcast that I would like to pay them less for a month or two?? Have not yet responded to the e-mail, not even sure if I will.
sigh, will this end?

I've never worked for them because they don't meet my fee. I got this same email. I responded politely and basically said no. Lol

Since when are we "overhead"? We're services - just like the appraiser, surveyor, title searcher, etc etc. Overhead is rent, lights, internet, cell phone..

Glad they don't call me.

Overhead is also their employees with benefits. I didn't receive this email and don't really care. I haven't done business with them in over 3 years due to their SC reputation. I recently received an email telling me I had to take some sort of training from them. Ignore and sent to trash.

Everyone is basically saying what I had been thinking. I did check my records and I have done 1 closing for them this year, at considerably more then they are asking me to drop my fee to. I think I also remember they require a ton of faxbacks (which I try not to do). So I guess that if they ask me again, I will just say no. Mostly since I will not be lowering my fees to meet their "request".

Well, another low pay company, pretty soon they'll be out of business too. They can't deliver the level of service other companies bigger than they are, it's only a matter of time.

Nothing new

They called me around June last year asking me to drop my fee to $85 and if I didnt they wouldnt use my services. Well I havent worked for them in a while and I have received calls from them since then BUT their number comes up as "Blocked" on my caller ID. I dont answer blocked calls. They leave a message but I dont call them back.

I received the same message. I will not lower my fees for any company. They still call me from time to time on emergency situations at they meet my fee. Shame on those notaries that keep lowering their fees. You are pathetic. As long as you keep lowering your fees, companies like that will keep paying less.
