I got that email also. The direct deposit part sounds good as does the payment schedule. But I don't see anything about rates.

Got that too. I also liked the direct deposit twice a month but I found it interesting that the last paragraph (below his name) was:

* YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED to purchase a paid subscription to join our network. However, you will need to create a free account by clicking the “Update Account” button below. Notary Bridge is a 3rd party notary management software company providing professional signing agents the opportunity to subscribe to their data management portal (Professional Version) for a nominal fee of $11 per month. I got the same email. You do not have to provide a credit card number, you can bypass that section.

So is NPN like a Notary Directory?? It didn't make sense to pay for some kind of data management portal. What does that mean?

I was wondering the same thing. Or are they looking to build a notary base and then act as signing service. Not very clear.

My guess is that he is STILL with/or owner of Notary Direct too and is just starting a new company name because they can't find people to work for them.

Re: Notary Fees

Dear Signing Agent,

I want to thank you for your continued support in assuring the success of Notary Direct. We value your services and appreciate the partnership developed throughout the years. Unfortunately, with the economic turmoil faced by all, we have been forced to cut our costs to our clients in order to remain competitive.

Although the majority of us felt the crunch back in 2007-08, we continued to pay our notaries premium amounts to conduct each of our closings. Unfortunately, we are no longer able to do so and have been forced to implement a pay cap for services rendered for all local closings within your area. Effective April 15th, 2012- Fee Table:

Notary States:

Single Set of Loan Documents (Over Night): $50.00
Single Set of Loan Documents (Email): $70.00
Additional Sets Signing Simultaneously: $30 + Print Fee (If Applicable) $20 = $50.00
Trip Fee/No-Sign: $30 + Print Fee (If Applicable) $20 = $50.00
Print Fee Only (No Trip Made): $20.00

We understand this may cause some hardship, and for that… we truly do apologize. We are hopeful that you will take into consideration the many years of service, our consistent pay schedule, and a staff willing to go above and beyond to protect your best interests and will choose to remain a part of our network.

Please send an email to: [e-mail address] advising whether you have elected to accept or decline. If you choose to decline, please let us know what your fee would be and we will update your records to reflect the most current information. Those that choose to accept our fees will be listed as a preferred notary within our network for your area.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate in contacting either me or one of our scheduling team members.

Michael A. DeValk
VP, Notary Direct Nationwide
