Noone wants to pay my fee
I did a couple of signings two weeks ago, in and out in 10 minutes.1 was for 60 and the other was for 65 . 1 was a 5 page loan modification agreement, Title did something wrong on the first rebuy. It was a property description I think. The other one was 2 grant deeds.
I get a call for a refii, caller offered me $70 because there were a few faxbacks. I senced confidence in his voice as if he were doing me a favor offering me 70. I said my fee was $xxx. He said you did one for us last week for $60. I had to explain to him that it was 1 notarization, 5 pages and in and out in 10 minuts. I'll see if I can get that approved and call you back. That was just the first of two calls like that.
I only have one job today but could have had 4 if I wanted to work for nothing.
Some one out there is taking these low fees and there are not very many notaries in my area. I exort you tyro's out there to require a reasonable fee because if you take these low fees that's all you ever will be offered in the future.

You're absolutely right, Buddy.
Usually, the new notaries will accept low fee "to gain experience." Unfortunately, once you're pegged as a low-cost notary, it's v-e-r-y difficult to get higher fees.
