Professional Settlements just sent this to me and others
I am declining this signing. $75 is not what I want to be doing signings for. But note in the email, they have sent this out to other notaries and will give it to the first one who accepts the terms "as is". Hmmm. I wonder who will take this, you know someone will. I'm hoping they all say no!
This is a Refinance signing. The fee we are paying for completion of this signing is $75 . Please see any special instructions below.
Special Instructions:
I can perform the special instructions listed above.
I'm available at the requested date/time for this closing and will not rearrange the time listed unless directed and discussed with PSS. Map To The Closing I do not require the documents be available more than 2 hours prior to the signing (we do not guarantee document availability at any specific time)
This signing has been sent to one or more closers in your area and will be assigned to the first closing agent who agrees to the terms above and accepts the assignment AS IS. You must agree to the terms above (all three check boxes must be checked) in order to accept this assignment. Once the signing has been accepted, you will receive an automatic response acknowledging you have accepted the signing. If the signing has already been accepted by another closing agent, you will receive an automated response indicating the signing has already been filled (we will have record that you attempted to accept the signing).

LOL, this sounds like that Trucking/Shipping Wars show my husband was watching last year. It was about all the truckers that get jobs to bid on, and whoever came in with the lowest bid got the job. Then it was a race against the clock to get the order picked up and delivered before the delivery deadline time. These truckers delivered everything from live chickens to automobiles, pretty much anything. Many times the truckers made the deadline time without a hitch-or a breakdown. Many times the truckers underbid, and it would cost them money. In terms of the typical "Reality Show" it was comical: This type of business hurts everybody. Got coffee? Wake up!

Actually
you can decline the signing and the next window it asks "are you unavailable at this time", Fee issues, and additional notes. This is where I place what my fee is. Of course during evening appts they always find someone to take the $75 cuz there are alot of notaries in my area who have full time jobs. Day appts my fee gets met cuz there is only a few notaries (if any other than me) working FT at this.

True, Toni...except that
I frequently will get several of these e-mails over the course of a day or more with a small fee increase and must keep going online to re-state MY fee before they finally figure out that I ain't doing it for less! Yes, am in a very notary un-saturated area.

Re: Actually
I realized that after I was quick to post. So I put it what I get and I'm wondering if I'll even get a call back. The only thing I have going for me is there are few notaries in my area. I do work a full-time job and have to turn down a number of jobs each day.

I don't automatically delete them
unless I'm so busy that I couldn't do them no matter what they were willing to pay. I just state my fee and every now and them, they will call me and meet my fee.
