Inquiring minds wanted to know. So instead of sending back the PMs, here it is. I finally got hold of London from ServiceLink and she told me that the closing was cancelled right after she spoke with me, but figured the "closing dept" would let me know. Right!!! I almost believe that. I even left five messages for her last night and she didn't have the decency to call me back this morning. She finally answered just now after my third call to her today.
Never mind the fact that I cancelled my plans for last night at the last minute, sat by my computer/phone waiting for a call telling me where to go, called many times and left five messages for them, looked thru old confirmations and called every number I could find and asking the assistance of all my Notary Rotary friends. I guess I learned a huge lesson last night. From now on if I don't have the confirmation in my hands within ten minutes when "the borrower has the docs", I'm just plain not going. I can't believe I spent two and a half hours stressing about this last night.
It just BURNS me up that this company has so little compassion for the notaries that make it possible for them to make all of the money they can. I do realize that the whole company is not responsible for this, but they really need train their employees better!!!

Darlin, they don't give a rat's $%# about our lives or schedules. I had three such experiences on Friday and two for this week. That's the way it goes...

I also have had more than I care to count in the last eleven years, but it still makes me so angry that they can treat us like this and get away with it.

Ive had this happen to me. I get a call asking to do a closing and they said they would send a confirmation. I never got that confirmation so I never placed it on my calendar. Didnt even get a call back saying they found another notary closer. oh well. I still filled the slot with another closing. But Im not going to waste my time calling around. No confirmation, no spot on my calendar. And if tey sent it 2 hours later, no guarantee that spot would be open.

THis does happen on occassion. But once it does, I never take another signing from that company.

Attention all NSA's, if you do not have a confirmation...
then the closing is so NOT HAPPENING. Its up to the NSA to kindly advise the scheduler that if you do not receive one, you can not confirm you'd be available to do the closing. Simple.
Also, PLEASE let the scheduler know of your "drop dead" time of when you MUST receive docs, or else you will not be able to do the closing.
@jojo - I'm sorry, and it was terrible that you cancelled your plans and waited that long, but this situation could've been avoidable had you let the scheduler know of your needs up front from that first initial phone call.

I was to leave immediately for the closing. She called me at 7:05 and I was to be at the borrower's house at 8:30 with a 1 1/2 hour drive. I told her I would be there between 8:30 and 8:45, so she obviously knew I needed it right away.
