Scheduler confirmed my suspicions about being Mr Overflow.

1 1/2 months since this SS has called me and they used to be #2 for me in volume. I was the 18th notary she called to get this assignment scheduled. "Why was I so far down on the calling list?" "Because we start with the less expensive notaries first and your fee ($XXX) is on the high side." She confirmed their volume has been way down but slowly picking up again. I'm going to leave my fee where it is and hope volumes rise quickly so the overflow gets to me.

Re: Hope they are getting busy and the overflow has started.

If so, that would mean the first 17 were booked so they finally got to me. I figure I'm netting $15 an hour with $XXX fees and I don't want to do it for less. I actually spend about 3 hours per loan including confirmation, down loading the docs and printing, driving and signing, fedex and invoicing. Fax backs take time even when I cull them out during the signing and put them in my ADF when I get home. I include an extra trip out to fedex after fax backs. You just have to charge more to keep up the minimum pay. So, I may only get the overflow but at least it is worth doing - if $15 and hour is worth doing.
