UPS at it again
Recently two emails from TC's about UPS and Saturday drop offs. UPS now charges a Saturday processing fee if you drop off at UPS store, the cost nearly doubles and now I must drop in box on Saturday.
Be alert you may get same emails if you do a lot of late Friday and Saturday work.

And FedEx is following suit?
I received a job and they told me that if I dropped on Sat. they (receiver) would be charged an extra amount, could I please drop on Friday evening - how late, etc. I just thought perhaps she didn't understand something, but now wonder.
Are companies trying to reduce week-end costs?

That is what they want now. Guess a possible delay is worth it? They say they have charged the client for mailing documents and any additional charges would fall on them.

Sorry - if dropped in box not at store, won't ship till Monday. Sorry - I missed that little word 'box.'

No, both do express overnite on Sat for Mon delivery.
FedEx is open till 5:30pm and UPS until noon here in Orlando. Taken to hub probably later, but I'm not doing that as included in fee.

In my area I have only one option to drop FedEx on
Saturday - that's if I drop before noon.
UPS we have a store - no other UPS pickup in my area on weekends. So, for me, companies either have to look to providing FedEx info if dropped on a weekend or, if they insist on UPS, it won't got til Monday.

In my area there are two 24/7 FedEx offices to drop packages and one is about 5 miles from where I live. I guess this means dropping on Friday night at the closest 24/7 office instead of Saturday.

But is it confirmed that FedEx charges more for
Saturday drops? UPS, yes - FedEx, I don't know for sure - just according to my one customer who may have thought UPS and FedEx have same ruling.

UPS & FEDEX drop boxes do not get picked up on Saturday's. At least in my neck of the woods in NJ.

South Florida does not pick up at any boxes on Saturdays. If it is a later Fri. closing, you have to bring to a UPS store for pickup on Sat. I will continue to do it until they tell me otherwise. Luckily I live by a Fed Ex hub, so they are not an issue, but UPS is much more difficult...earlier pick up times, and boxes few and far between as is. Oh well, they will just charge the buyer.
