United Lender Services out of Pittsburgh
Just got an email inviting me to join their title co. and sent docs to fill out and return - 20 pgs. - requesting all types of personal info (my SSN, hubby's SSN and where he's employed, etc.), including signing a vendor's service agreement (one part gives them permission, without notice, to perform an "on-site audit of vendor's information security program" in addition to a lot of other legal mumbo-jumbo) and a request to pay $35 for a background check. This seems a bit much, especially the request for my hubby's info. Has anyone received this type of email with these docs? Do you think it's "for real"? Sure doesn't seem legit to me.

NO, and your husbands info is none of their business.

Absolutely NOT! Even if you were their employee, your husband's info is not their business.

I received that email solicitation and I thought it looked like a fake, too. May be a phishing scam. But even if it is legit, I wouldn’t waste my time. ULS is rated only 3 stars in SC.

With all they are asking for you might wonder about identify theft. JMHO

Must be a scam! Doesn't make sense that they would need. Your husband's info.

Thanks everyone! I thought it was a scan, too. I'm hoping that no one falls for this scheme and gives out their info. Thanks again.

One more good reason to go online & get your tax id, clicky, clicky. If you blundered with an IE9, they could not use it to rob you.....I don't think?
