What would you do?

Did a reverse app last night. Fax backs required. One item to be faxed back on list was not in the package. I did not check the list beforehand. Now they are not approving my fax back and I checked the file emailed to me and this document is not in the package. I've never had this happen before. I told them I can go back out to have them sign the form for an extra fee. Do you check all the docs in package to make sure everything is there beforehand?

It is easy enough to prove, they can see what they uploaded. Unless they are really "shysters" and do not want to admit fault, stand your ground. You can only fax what you have. Good luck!

Not my job to make sure EVERY doc is in the package.

Besides which, so many of these fool 'fax these docs back' lists are so wrong &/or so generic that who knows what's really supposed to be there. How many times have you seen the words (if applicable) on those lists? I don't know if it's applicable unless it's actually in the package. Don't let them con you.

Another 'besides which'....how often do we get those in time to check (which I won't anyway)--not my job and well beyond my pay grade.

Here's what I do when I'm given a specific list of what to

fax back - and I've done it for over 25 years..

I use a copy of the list as a cover sheet - "follows signed documents requested per attached list" - and I check off each doc as I put them in the faxback pile. If one is missing I mark it as such - after name of doc I print "not provided in package" or "not applicable'.

Has worked for me.

Re: Here's what I do when I'm given a specific list of what to

I did just that on the coversheet- wrote "not in package". They just called and said it is not a form allowed in the state that I did the application although it says "Form Name" NY. LOL..they are approving my fax back. She said I had the whole office scrambling and she didn't see it in the package either.

Not to hijack this thread, but hasn't it been discussed

that it is not permitted to do RM apps? Ref msg # 452485 had a kind of long discussion and I have msg'd Hugh about it as well.

It has been discussed. If you listen to sock puppet man it is illegal and one is subject to oodles of $$$ fine. Others feel very differently and there is great support for that camp as well.

This is one reason why I am seriously considering charging per file (after the 1 e-file). I've had a document go "missing" and its a lot easier to confirm when only one file is sent. I have had SS and a Title client just "dump" multiple files into an email - as if to say, "here, you sort/handle."

It shouldn't be a problem (in adobe) to combine and send 1 complete file to eliminate duplicate or missing docs. Who wants to download 3 versions of the HUD because someone is too lazy to identify the correct one and put it in the package?? And if it comes later than the 1st file, now I'm downloading and running out the door with some "addendum" pages sticking out of who knows where! IMHO, that's how stuff "goes missing."
