GNW: Request to notarize an invisible document

Had a guy call me tonight to notarize a document. I asked the usual questions: do you have a Picture ID?, Is there already notarial wording on the document? Yes to both. When we met it was a business agreement between family members with only a place for him to sign. I asked if he wanted me to use a JURAT or Ack. He chose the JURAT but asked if I could print the notarial wording on the page being signed. After a minute of small writing I was able to make it work. Then he wanted to sign two blank pages that I would notarize. I tried to explain why not...It is amazing that he thought that I could notarize his signature and he could just create a document on it. He said it was personal/ private and He didn't want anyone to know his business. Oh my...

Yeah, right, like signing a blank check!

Well, did you tell him that you don't care about his personal and private business and would not even be reading his document, but scanning it for no blank spaces?

Oh, my is right!

Some people are so stupid........and I bet if he called enough notaries in your area, he could probably find an idiot that would do it for him.

I had a similar situation where a guy called and asked if I could notarize a document but would not tell me what document and said that it was personal. I explained that I really did not care about his personal situation but it had to have the notarial verbiage or I had to bring either an acknowledgement or jurat. Of course he had no idea what I was talking about. We parted with ways with him saying he would find a notary that would just notarize it as he had in the past. I wondered why he did not call the other notary in the first place.
