Has anyone had trouble signing up ...
...for the Hertz benefit? I need a rental car tomorrow, and thought I'd give it a fling, but it keeps rejecting me with this message: •There is an issue with your credit card. Please confirm with your credit card company that the billing address matches one of the addresses you have listed or if your credit card has any potential validation issues. [DE341]
The address is the same billing address I have used for years. I used the 9-digit ZIP, I inserted spaces between the 4-number sets on my credit cards, I scrunched my nose up tight: Nothing has worked.
Any suggestions, other than to call Enterprise, which is my next attempt to correct the problem.

Linda is probably right, try the five digit zip code.
If that doesn't work here are some options:
Toyota rents cars. I didn't know until I was searching for my son (23 yrs old) they didn't charge the underage fee so it worked out the cheapest for us. $25 day. He got a fairly new Prius. There is usually one dealer per area that offers this.

EC Purchasing, sign up at ecpurchasing.com, get approved and then sign up with both Hertz and Enterprise. The thing when comparing your prices is to make sure whether going through NR or EC is sometimes they default for a full size sedan and only give you a quote for those, just unclick and click and search all available.
If you haven't rented a car in a while they give you options for filling the tank, you can buy the gas that is in the vehicle when you pick it up and return it empty or fill it to full before returning. I've done both and prefer filling before returning. With my last rental a little fiat and filled it up (had to) when I was about 30 miles from the airport, they accepted it has full...so you don't have to use the most expensive station near the rental office. The one time I 'bought the tank' I was determined to return it empty, I didn't like the feeling of driving without ac, windows up in 90 heat coasting on fumes.
I know more than I should about renting cars, if you have any questions email me, good luck, Amy

I use Priceline! I usually can get deals between $9-15 per day. I bid starting at $9 and then go up depending on what the response is. It works for me. I never know who I'll get, but, I get phenomenal deals.
