Watching the video it shows it hooked up to usb port. Can it be used remote, not hooked to computer?

Re: Business is too slow to invest more, I try to separate

the docs to be scanned into a separate pile while closing and then scan them when I get back. It would be nice to scan into a device while closing but may be a bit awkward if it has to be plugged into a computer while scanning.
