I got a "6"
I've been a signing agent since 2006. I've done thousands of signings during this time. As I'm sure you all can atest to, we will get a total IDIOT on occassion. Well, my most recent IDIOT was the one that was chosen for a survey. Although I always suspected that the Title Companies did these, this was my first time getting a response about one. I would love to get the responses back from the 99% who believe I do a great job. Has anyone else gotten feedback about client surveys? How would your respond to the Title Company? Thanks.

Yes, those surverys are a PIA, and yet cos. need to have a
way to find out who's doing a good job & who isn't. I normally get glowing comments from people, but I had a gal back in Feb. that got ugly & reported me to the lender, of all things. The ss & tc had to answer that complaint, of course. Many of the accusations were false, and it all blew over. Even the ss & tc knew this was so far from anything they'd heard about me before. Yes, we get one of those once in a while--fortunately, not too often or I'd be out of this biz. ;-)

That must feel very disappointing! So much has to be considered in your reply, however, I might say something like this: "Thanks so much for taking the time to send along this feedback. I must say that some of the responses surprised me as I am so often told ........... and then enter whatever applies to you. I.E. "You made this painless." or "Clients often comment on my organizational abilities." or "I hear over and over again how easy I made the process for them". I hope this helps you!

Sorry to hear that.
I never got any feedback if one was ever done on me. However I do get glowing emails from closing coordinators.
But I did have one company call me and pull me off a resign because the BO said I was being nasty. But they were PO'd because I would accept his wife 10 yr expired drivers license. They claim to have been PO'D about lender too because they had no clue who their LO was and couldnt believe I didnt know either.
Aww well.

Me too.
Vendor management called me up, said, Cheryl, you always get 9s and 10s. I had no idea I was being rated. Finally, I get a 6...HUH? Okay, well the borrowers, a prominent SB physician and his philanthropic spouse just returned from a month in Europe, mentioned they had jet lag. They were particularly unhappy, they just didn't fill out the form that had to do with rating the signing agent. That counted against me. On the other hand, they were 20 minutes late to the signing. How should I rate them?
Onward and forward...

I suspect some clients use surveys to adjust loan terms.
You might do a spectacular job and are nice to them, while they are unduly nasty toward you. Then, they write a horrible response on the survey. When the LC/TC/SS calls to apologize, the client can say that they will only accept said apology if their int. rate is reduced or other financial concessions are made in their favor.
Clients lie, all the time. And, they'll probably get away with it, in THIS life. Fortunately, such fraud is still relatively rare...for now. But, when it gets bad enough, the states that it happens in most will likely become attorney-only states, BO fees will increase, and, any BO who tries to pull such a stunt, then, will finally be confronted with an equal adversary.
At such time, said BO's bullying of NSA's will be over. In that instance, I hope the attorney would cancel the signing and sue the BO for harassment. An added bonus would be if the lender were to cancel the loan and said BO bully were to lose their home. JMHO

Re: I suspect some clients use surveys to adjust loan terms.
Don't think so--pretty much carved in granite by the time we get there. Are you kidding? Loan terms: amt, rate, duration, pmt? An "adjustment" would require a total re-sign.

The Notary Fee is the only line item a client can grind on..
I've seen it over and over again, where if there is enough whining and wanking, escrow will waive the notary fee partially or altogether. It's the only area possible...then the escrow/title absorbs it in their escrow fee line item. The title insurance fee is never waived.
