My Saturday morning call
I received a call at 841 AM that woke me up.
-Can you do a signing here at BOA?
--Yes, do you have docs and how many borrowers?
-Yes I have only loan docs, escrow docs will be signed later.
--How much are you auth. to pay for this signing?
-Well since your only able to charge 10/signature...
--What time do you need me to be there?
-9AM
--Imposible to for me be there at that time.
-No problem, click.
Wow! they really wanted my services but not wanted to pay but 10 per signature, and to be there in lees than 20 minutes.

That's interesting. I wonder, if you had been available and everything was good to go, would you be required to go through then entire packet to obtain signatures or would BofA have pulled out only the documents to be notarized for the general notary work they called for.

It doesn't matter what "they" want. It is what you
negotiate/ agree to. I also would also not leave my house for anything less than my travel fee and $10 per sig.

Re: I agree 100% with you ANA. It's Our Business, Our Fees.
Exactly, things to consider:
Your time to travel, auto expense, yada, yada, yada, as a base fee, THEN $10 per signature. If it's only one borrower, no trust certificate, there are only 3 signatures, $30, no way.
Let BofA go kick rocks.

Signings at B of A = GNW
I do quite a bit of loan signings at the local B of A.....it's just GNW. They pull out the pages they want notarized. I take care of that and then go to the lobby, write up my fee ($10 per signature notarized per doc plus travel fee). They handle the rest of the signing. The manager takes my receipt to the counter and either gets cash or deposits the money into my checking account - instantly! I take ALL I can get from them. Usually, I'm given a lot of notice - USUALLY. The lady that called me originally had moved to another branch and called me Friday from her new branch. I had just walked in the door from work and my phone rang.
B of A: Hi Lisa, this is "Jane Doe", remember me, I moved to another branch.
Me: Yes, I asked about you at X branch and they said you were transferred. Great to hear from you.
B of A: Thanks, can you come and notarize a few docs for me?
Me: Yes, what time?
B of A: Umm, can you come right now?
Me: Yes, but I'm still in my work uniform, I just walked in the door. Is that okay ?
B of A: Yes, that's fine. How soon can you get here?
Me: I can be there in 15 to 20 mins. depending on the freeway.
B of A: Okay, see you when you get here and thanks so much, I know this is very short notice.
Me: No problem, "Jane"....see you shortly.
$50 into my account for 15 mins of my time. For those two particular B of A branches, I'll drop what I'm doing to notarize for them. But as I said, they usually give me plenty of notice. It's unfortunate that it didn't work out for you.

Since when does ANY B of A branch NOT have their own notary?
Every B of A branch that I've EVER done business with, in California, Tennessee and in Arkansas has had a notary public on staff, when I needed GNW services. Where do YOU live that B of A hires outside notary public services? I've never heard of that. Curious.
