My thoughts on August
Business has slowed compared to the last 4 months, I met my numbers for this month, if not for all the cancelled deals last week it would be better. September is starting with a bang so far I have 7 lined up till 9/6 and should get a few more by the 6th. People say to market but when the whole country is slow you market but there is no work for loan signings. GNW in NJ won't pay the bills.
I see people posting that they have or are looking for pt gigs, I would say if you count on this as a ft gig and had a slow August you should be looking for something and not wait and hope. Hope does not pay the bills. Most ARs should be gone by the end of Sept. Even my AR is on a 21 day turn around (the only good thing about 30 day payments or later you stretch out money due) quick AR will kill you when things go bad, need to replace income faster.
For September I am hoping LOs push the ARMs again.

Exactly. Enough already. Nobody wants your weekly
Blow by blow either. Use a day planner for that.

In the first paragraph everything peachy keen for you, then your second paragraph telling people to look for other work if they do this full time. Which is it?

Another synopsis of your SA business
<<<Business has slowed compared to the last 4 months, I met my numbers for this month, if not for all the cancelled deals last week it would be better. September is starting with a bang so far I have 7 lined up till 9/6 and should get a few more by the 6th.>>>
Please remind me why this is of relevance to the rest of us here on NotRot?

Oh My!! We need to be fed . . .
I don't know about "relevance" or what's really at the root of the offense taken to OP, BUT for over 2 weeks now, the Headlines have consistently been:
~SLOW Business. Desperately need ideas of what other type of work I can get in my area! (Piti Enterprise, inc.) ~EOM: Only 5 signings for Whole Month (Piedmont Chronicle) ~Business to Screeching Halt - Nothing for EOM day. This is very scary. (Fox News) ~Gonna Get Worse!! (Daily Planet) ~No Check Mailed in Over a Week! (Financial Times) ~Help! My Invoices are Shrinking!! (Paranoia Today)
I don't want to make light of this (I'm suffering personally, too); but couldn't we laugh a little - especially the ones with *some* other income and current mortgages? We all hate doom for sure. But Tomorrow Is Another Day . . .

What's really funny to me
is I used to think the posters were kidding or exaggerating when they'd say SS staff were on vacation with Our $$ - until I found out it was true!
Over 30 days out with a good vendor and don't know if my car insurance will get paid on time!!

Lets laugh....."a dog walks into a bar and says...I'm looking for the person who shot my pa(paw)"
Ok that was dumb. Goodbye. LOL

I have no problem with laughing a little, or a lot as the
case may have it. But, this is why I frequent those web pages with cats, cheesburgers, internet memes, etc... While I'm not offended by the kickoff post, I am growing very weary of the social media mindset. This doesn't happen readily on here as far as I can tell, though I haven't been keeping up on here recently since family life has become busy. I don't recall people posting about what they ate for breakfast or how cute their chihuahua looks when stuffed into a sock. Those kinds of posts are the ones I'm talking about.
Either way, yes business has slowed down for most folks, but we already knew that. Perhaps the problem for some people was that the obvious post was obvious? Well that and some people may not particularly care what your books or schedule look like. I'm one of them. Call me unkind or callous, but chances are I won't care about that either. Hell, there may be a good chance you don't care about what I don't care about.
And now we've come full circle....

You might think about keeping more of this from public
view. Your competitors are reading this, you know.

Some pay the bills with GNW, I don't have enough of it, but it can fill the void in a slow month. I've got my numbers for the month of August too. I have had slow months in the past... but you are a BUSINESS, not an employee. Common sense business practice is to have enough money set aside to cover your payroll in the event of a slow period. Even if you have 3 months straight with very little signings, you should be able to handle it without going bankrupt. Living paycheck to paycheck as a notary is going to eventually put you in the poor house. No gloom here. I have my business covered, and can handle a downturn.
