National Vendor Solutions - do they always prohibit contact

with the borrower prior to the signing?

Yep, always. Exceptions have never been made for me, even when I traveled 25+ miles one way. I don't take jobs anymore where I cannot confirm with the borrower.

Yes but you can get number off 1003.

I live in an area where there are new home developments popping up and gps and google maps arent always a good source. Google maps is almost 4 years behind. I live in a new development that was just built less than 18 months ago. You arent going to find my address on the system.

Yes they do but that's usually because the Lender

MIC, prohibits advance contact. As I've posted before - I talk to MIC and let them know I cannot go without prior contact due to the area and have always been allowed to call once they've reviewed the HUD with the borrower.

I havent had any problems with this. The borrowers have always been given my name and number in case of a timing problem. Docs are timely, pay is very quick. Send me more work!!

a few weeks back (for MIC), no one reviewed the HUD w the borrower, I was not allowed to call & intro myself--they did not know when I was coming! It was pretty awful 2.5 hours for me, every document was questioned (as if I came up with it myself, I guess). Borrowers really felt insulted when I just showed-up at the door, actually.

I discussed this issue w/NVS. They are reviewing policy. They told me to use # on 1003.
But this # may not always be good! Contacting MIC sounds like good idea. Maybe if MIC
gets enuf calls they will lift the restriction. Rural areas no GPS no Cell service etc.
