Office Hours??

What a breath of fresh air! Although, we are not as busy as years past, I recently decided to set office hours. I do not advertise 24/7 service yet I was getting calls at midnight! Of course, I wasn't answering it. Plus, I want to spend more time with the grandkids and not have the cell phone on my hip all the time. And my website is very sophisticated and allows clients to schedule closings/appointments online, etc. And I have a very informative after-hours voicemail message.

I was just curious to know if anyone else has set office hours that they stick to or if you are pretty much tied to your phone. I did it in the beginning but I cant do it anymore. I want to have a life too Smile

For GNW loan signings or both?

Can't imagine a TC or SS using a website to schedule so was curious how that works out for you. I don't do much if any GNW and my office hours are 8AM to 8PM. I don't answer 24/7.

For closings

Regular clients will schedule online but new clients will not. So it works about 50% of the time I guess.

I have my hrs. posted on the sites as being 9 am-9 pm, by

appointment. I don't make myself available 24-7, and I wouldn't risk going our late at night for any notary work. Always remember, we have the freedom to say "no" at any time.

I have hours for both GNW and NSA work, however I am flexible to a point. If I'm busy with other work, I let the phone go to voicemail. If someone really wants me, and is not just shopping for cheap, they usually leave a number for me to call back, or we work out something when I call back their number.

I cannot work 24/7, and have found most of the time when someone calls late, they don't want to pay the premium price for me to jump up to help them with their project.

I have 24/7, but in 9 years I believe my latest call for a closing was 8:00 PM for assigning last minute. I have done them all times however, but prior scheduled. You have always a choice, answer the phone or don't. lol

I don't advertise 24/7 either...and I shut my cell off

at night. My hours are 9:00am - 6:00pm - I no longer wish to start signings at 8, 9 or 10:00 at night - I might stretch the 6:00 to 7:00 but I won't start signings any later than 7:00 - I no longer wish to come dragging in at 10:00 or 10:30 at night.

I've never been tethered to my phone and don't wish to start that either. Good for you and good luck.
