I was approached by one of these guys years ago to notarize something. I don't remember the details, but I think it had something to do with a protest, trying to get out of some financial obligations, which I didn't feel qualified to get involved with - nor did I want to. (I've recently read protests should be handled only by banks - if at all.)
It seemed to me that this guy was willing to live here and take advantage of all the benefits of being a resident/citizen, but was also willing to go to extreme measures to not have to contribute in any way to our communities. (Talk about takers...) As a notary, I would use whatever legal excuse I could to not assist these people in any way. Some of them may have legitimate grievances, but I don't believe anarchy is the answer. Sorry if I've crossed the line but I'll leave it at so I don't need to take it off this page. (I do think this issue is relevant to us as notaries.)
