Premier Lending Services

So these folks ask me to handle a signing on SATURDAY. My fee had to be "approved" of course. I inquired about docs twice. Got a response once last night saying ETA was requested from lender. No word this morning. Finally called borrower who informed me it's cancelled. I am in a very remote area and NOBODY wants to go to this area so good luck PLS finding anyone - this NSA will not be available for you ever again. Too many good ones out there who need me and who would never treat me that way.

Too bad for you, they pay well and like clock work and I have never had issues with them. I make money twice with them if I am available. App and Closings so that is a couple hundred for each client. I get about 4/month with them it would be more if the schedule was more open (which I see it will in future)

Had a similar experience with Premier Signing Services...they have about 7 "premiers" listed, so have to be careful about which ones to take when they call. Sorry to hear that, but if they have a 4 star + I would give them another chance. Usually not their fault, but title or lender's, and Fridays always funny anyway about people wanting to leave early for the weekend and not verifying that everything is okay if they have Sat. closings.

Yes there are other PLS, The one I mentioned is out of CA and does RMs. The one out of OH is a crook out right.

Give them another chance. SOP? Not really, fell through the cracks. I can't tell you how many times I've received confirmations, but no docs, after hours...call the borrower, yep, been cancelled...couldn't get docs out...LO just called to say we'll sign next week.

It's like being the "other" woman, or "man", we're the last to know.

That's part of this business; late docs, late people, cancellations. If they are rated good otherwise, the only one being stubborn is you. Sh*t happens, and to turn down a otherwise good company with great ratings is just hurting yourself over a bruised ego. Your not the first and not the last closer this happens to, and to take things personal in this business will only hurt yourself in the end. Many other closer's out there, and not taking their closings is no problem to them, especially in this down turn economy, no matter what you think, and where you are. Every profession has it's downside, non are perfect. I am pissed when it happens to me as well, but you have to remember it's not personal and swallow your ego a bit, and be glad it is few and far between. Tomorrow is another day, and we are the bottom of the food chain.

While your words do ring true in many respects, I have to let you know this is not about "ego". I am not competing with "other closers" either - they are few and far between here. In some areas, even I wonder why I take the job - the word "rural" doesn't do some of these places justice. I actually drove several miles on a road that was used by hunting clubs. I didn't see houses for miles, but I did see a deer stand or two If I don't get paid my fee or if I am treated like a step-child, I will find better things to do with my time. That's just a common sense business decision I have to make. In my area, this has never been a viable full-time gig anyway so it's never been my ONLY source of income. And I have been mistreated by this company before. I did give that "other chance".

You are def. doing the right thing...they had their 2nd chance, so now is their issue. I am not rural but under a similar circumstance here with one of my primary closing companies, who does not read that the lender requests a certain closer in my area. I print call, then find out it was supposed to go to the other closer. It gets very old 1-2 times per month. When my "ship" sails in one of these days, they will def. hear about it, and drop them when it happens again. (They already know my displeasure in a tactful way) I don't like playing 2nd to anyone, and if she has ties with a certain broker or lender great, but do not waste my time calling and assigning it to me, to be taken away. Just laziness on the SS behalf, and makes a bad attitude playing 2nd choice to anyone.
As far as the late or no docs or get cancelled and no one tells you, I have found that instead of calling the SS or title, just contact the borrower, (usually 45 minutes prior or Friday evening) and they get sort of upset and start taking matters into their own hands when you have no docs nor communication. The borrowers are forgiven much more easily than we are when it comes to calling title, lenders. I have found that the docs come much sooner and if cancelled, they already know about it and tell me. They also appreciate the sincerity we have telling them what's up, then to call and tell them later on making excuses. Pro active approach to the borrower.
Good luck, and I agree, they missed out by not communicating with you.

Late docs are due to the lender, not the ss

Yes, you are right Mr. Bagger. However, when a lender does not provide the SS with the docs for the closing, it is the SS responsibility to pull the plug and/or inquire with lender and get to the bottom of what is going on. Shooting an email and hoping to get an answer is not very professional if you ask me. However, we all have our opportunities where we end up doing the SS's job at times by contacting the borrower and asking the borrower to contact their loan officer and then the loan officer gets upset and contacts the team working on the docs blah blah blah blah.....

Just no right to schedule an appt. for Sat. & then not let

you know it's cancelled. Hate when that happens! Sounds like it was a push to get something done here close to EOM but it wasn't ready to go. I agree that there's not excuse for them not letting you know, and it doesn't sound like the PLS I work with.
