Recycling Laserjet Toner Cartridges

I just signed up for $4 per cartridge recycling program with this company. This ship their labels to you and they will send a truck to come get the boxes.

I've got quite a collection since Staples will accept, but no give you $2 per cartridge any longer.

Cheryl
I just looked at the website.. They say they pay up to $4 per inkjet cartridge

http://empties4cash.com/about-e4c.html

But if you look at their price list they only pay 50cents for laser cartridges

Well, shoot. What do you do with your laserjet toner cartridges?

I take them to Office Depot or Staples and receive reward points. There are also small, local toner refilling companies who will recycle, but I haven't checked to see if they pay anything.

After accumulating about a dozen empty cartridges, I purchase bulk toner and refill them at a cost of $14 each. I refill each cartridge twice. I don't purchase the new chip. This helps reduce the overall cost of toner. Check out: www.tonerkits.com

Great minds think alike, LOL! I do not purchase HP name brand to begin with, then buy bulk toner and hubby refills for me. Depending on the print quality of the drum inside, I've been able to refill the same cartridge up to 4 times ... really saves $$$.

I posted about this once before and the best suggestion I got was to find a local school that recycles them for a fundraiser. So far I haven't gotten around to researching that. There are programs (including with the ones sold here) that will recycle them and provide something (don't remember how much) as a fundraiser, but you need a minimum of 20 cartridges at a time. (The last time I ordered from the supplier via this site, there was a postcard inside that had info about that.)

101livescan,

I print a return shipping label from Quill's Web site and receive $2 per cartridge for a future purchase. There is a $20 QuillCash limit per month, however, theywill accept more than 10 cartridges in a single month. Additionally, when your future merchandise total is $100 or more then the QuillCash discounts are applied.
