What is the biggest package you have ever gotten?
I am doing a VA refinance on Wednesday. I got the package yesterday. It is 239 pages...I was told that if the borrower wanted his copies sent in a PDF that I could do that. He declined. Said he would rather have copies printed.
Yes, I am being paid extra to close this, but these borrowers will be so worn out before it is completed. I don't even know how long I will be there.

I had one package over 250 pages. It had the closing package, the appraisal and the loan officer's application documents. The LO package was previously dated four weeks before the closing. They actually complained because I sent the package back in a larger package because the documents did not fit in a standard package.

I sure that this package will be in a larger package too. I could not use my biggest binder clip because it was so thick. Three 1003s. VA loan application docs and broker docs too. No appraisal though...don't give them any ideas...it is not closing until Wednesday.
How long did it take you to close it?

Just short of two hours counting my document review. Your question reminded me of another closing I did on a VA. No table, they signed on TV trays in the front room sitting on an overstuffed couch. It took a little over an hour. The guy thought it was going to take two and one half hours, which was how long his previous refinance took. I asked why and he told me that they signed the package and then the notary made them sign their copies. (she also notarized the copy package). I gave him the title company's number and told him to let them know how happy they were that it only took one hour.... and why.

copy pkg signed and notarized? lol
I did a re-sign for a couple, 180 pg VA also. they said the previous notary was completely flustered when she arrived and announced it would probably take at least 3 hours! We were a little over an hour and they thought I walked on water

I had a 272 page VA with an active duty marine and his wife. They wanted to read a lot of the docs. Took 3 hours and had to send back in an oversize package. Got paid very well for it though.

311 pgs!! VA, 2 hrs. many multiples of TILS, GFE, 1003 and
"Do you wish to proceed" form. thankfully it was 1 signer and he was young! I didn't have to print all the multiple disclosures for the borrower.

262 paqes - FHA purchase several years ago
the borrowers took one look at the package and said "don't say a word, just keep flipping!" And I did (except for oaths and acks) - took just under 1.5 hours.

I can't remember exactly, but it was a VA, USAA lender, and it was horrendous. Even the borrower commented on "looks like a stack of Bibles you got there."
He was a retired pilot and former USAF captain, flew in Viet Nam.

239 pages. CalVet loan. Borrower was 83 years old with arthritis. Told him to hang in there as he painfully signed where I pointed. He said, "Yep, I just want my damn money. It's a 30 year loan, but, I sure as heck ain't worryin' about paying it back. I just want my cash out." Got it done.
