copy paper

Can anyone tell me the best copy paper to use for printing docs from a laser printer?

Virtually any 20 lb. paper will do. "Best" can be in the 'eyes' of the printer. Some printers seem to like one brand over another. Over the years, I just go with whatever is on sale. One of the smoothest-feeding, jam-free brands I've used was one I'd never heard of before--or since. These papers are not going to be archived; but scanned and forgotten... probably shredded--I really don't know.

If you have a Sams Club any of their paper will do or just look out for sales from Staples or Office Depot. Sign up for all their emails. They will let you know when on sale.

Most of the time the paper will be filed away and never seen again. But if there is a claim that the deed or mortgage was forged, the original will be considered the best evidence, and the handwriting examiners will want to look at it.

If there is a foreclosure, the original note must be produced by the party that is foreclosing.

When the loan is paid off, the original note must be returned to the borrower, stamped "PAID".

But I don't think this will be a problem. The paper commonly available at Sams, Staples, etc. should last 30 years without disintegrating.

I don't use "copy" paper, per se. I try to use

multi-purpose paper. I get most of my paper at Costco--letter & legal. I have been following deals from Staples, Office Depot, etc. & get letter-size paper when there's a good deal.
I also only use 20# paper, which is what most paper is.

The best sale I can find is what I use. I use them all if they are the best sale of the day/month/year. 20#, 90-92 brightness is about standard.
