Area shut down
North Texas thur Sunday is below 32 and basicly shut down. In Weatherford I used U S Hwy 180 and a major state hwy 51 and 171 to get to the office. Neither had recieved any attention of sanding or plowing.

Makes my 22 last night seem "balmy". Roads are fine here, no ice, except we have more crazies on them around the holidays. Not sure where they come from.

Inclement weather may affect FedX, UPS pickups
For those who do have closings today and you will be dropping docs for next day delivery, call ahead to check on times of last dropoff. In times of inclement weather, those times may be moved up considerably. So that station/Fedex Office location that usually has the 6:30 pm--or last time in the area--may have the truck picking up next day packages at, for example, 4:30pm instead.

:-( Same here Anthony. 6 inches of snow in last 24 hours
8 inches deep on lawn with 1+ foot snow drifts. Hope you're able to stay close to home.

Southern Indiana is also shut down. I was able to sneak one in last night before the rain/sleet/snow hit. Dropped the pkg last night so I would not have to get out today. I got confirmation from a borrower that they received their docs today for our closing tomorrow. So UPS was wotking today...

It's not much better here in Grapevine. There was a 15 car accident last night on hwy 121.
I've heard that Texas DOT has sanders and plows in the area, but there are too few to serve too large an area, and only the larger cities like Dallas and Fort Worth have anything resembling snow removal equipment. I can understand the thinking - why spend money on equipment you might only need once every two or three years?
