More frustration with NNA

Why can't these title companies and lenders see how the NNA is using them to get our hard-earned money????

I checked to see my listing on S..A..com. (Don't want to promote their website!!!) They refuse to show that I have a current notary bond for Wisconsin and that I have $100,000 E & O from here. This is my correspondence with that company (I removed all of my personal information from here):

From me:

The information that is showing on your website is incorrect this is what it shows:

Please update the information I put in italics that are bolded in Black.

I am attaching proof of all. Please reply that you received and made changes to my profile. Thank you very much and have a wonderful day!

My name,
my phone #
my fax#

I then attached all of my licensing proving that I had all of the above.

Their reply:

Dear (my name),

Thank you for contacting us with your concerns. Unfortunately, we are unable to display other vendors policies and commissions. We can only display our order history. According to our records, you have not purchased your E&O since 2007 and the bond since 2011.

Thank you,

The website is inaccurate as stated. This gives the impression to my clients that I do not have the insurance, and bond that is required by all of them. The main reason I re-joined NNA is so I can be listed on your website to meet their current criteria due to the marketing that your company has been doing. I do not get business from this website, that is why I discontinued my membership for a few years. Now, due to your promoting of your SPW, all of my clients are requiring that I join the NNA and get your background check.

You are in no way helping notaries, you are just helping yourselves to our hard-earned money. You should be able to update the website showing that I (and other notaries) do have the required insurance etc as long as we send you a copy of it.

So, in other words, these title companies and lenders need to see that they are manipulating us in a way that we need to pay them more and more every single year.

Membership,
Section membership
Background check,
Certification class,
E & O
Bonds,
etc., etc. All money into the NNAs pocket.

They don't need to show who we purchased any of the above from. We pay to be listed on their website; therefore, they should be printing the truth. Not that our insurance etc is expired, when it is not!

I know it's all been said many times before; however, I really needed to vent. Thank you all. Peace be with you!

Jojo exactly the same thing I was told, unless I have an NNA membership they will not put my Bond or E & O on my profile also I can't use their logo for the same reason all thou I got certified with them and got my BGC done.

Just another example of manipulation and lack of integrity. The least they could do is just leave it blank. Saying that it's "expired" is providing false information. Do they provide a blank field where you can add notes and add in that info?

I am a member of the NNA. They will not change the information. In fact they show my commissions in all three states as being expired. When I first joined the NNA (at the time I thought it was a requirement) back in 2002, I paid for them to apply for my commissions. Every time since, I have just renewed thru the states, so that is why it is showing I am not commissioned.

I sent proof that I had insurance and bond also, but they won't show their competitors products. This is totally bogus considering it does not state "purchased thru NNA" anyway.

The only reason I renewed my membership with them is because my two biggest clients demanded I got my bgc thru them or I could not work for them any more. In order to get their bgc you have to be a member. Also, you had to be listed on S..A.com also. To be listed on that website, you had to have the regular membership AND the section membership. I was told that this has been changed as far as section, but not sure.

Are you paying for a service you're not receiving?

If so, aren't there both state and federal laws against that? I suggest filing claims for refunds for services not provided, and copy the appropriate government entities. Might make an impression.

Hi Jojo,

I was curious, how does one see their own profile in signing agent .com? It wants me to sign in and the sign in ID and password I use for my NNA account does not wot work.

When I look at my profile in the NNA while it does not show anything for bond or INS, it does not say expired either. I am just wondering if that is because I never purchased a bond or E&O through them to begin with?

I was just curious if you had a way to actually see what the hiring parties see through signing agent.com?

Regards
Larry

You have to be a Signing Agent section member and you get a separate password and log in for that section.

I do have a signing agent section ID & password. It still does not allow me to get into signing agent.com and see what the hiring parties see.

Your original post said "I checked to see my listing on S..A..com".

So how does one get on signing agent.com which is where the hiring parties get their information from?

Not trying to be confrontational, just trying to find out if I am missing a way to get into signing agent.com.

I'm not sure, how they get in. I believe they have to have an NNA membership to peruse notaries, but not sure.

When you update your profile, there is a button that shows "how it appears" on the website.

I'm curious. How do you expect the cos. to "get it" if you

are a member & play the game? The cos. will only "get it" from those of us who refuse to get on board with all their BS.

That's really sad that these cos. are jumping on board with

this. Hey, why not? It doesn't cost them anything & they believe it add to the credibility of the industry.

I agree MW...and what they DON'T realize is that they may

be considered colluding with this group, which is an illegal activity.

This group must be challenged in the way they are trying to set "standards" for our particular jobs.

The NSA position MUST first be legally recognized as a vocation...an actual profession in order for anytype of regulation or standards can be legally established.

Though the SPeW group indicates on their website, that the "These voluntary Standards" they really are not!

In reality, if we do not comply with these bogus standards, and take the exam and get the certification and obtain our BGC with the NNA, we will be blackballed...BOTTOM LINE. PERIOD!

So what are WE NSA'S GOING TO DO ABOUT IT? Join an organization that is fighting for us is fine and dandy, but you are giving your rights to fight for your individual rights in this endeavor to someone else. I always believed in fighting for my own rights, myself.

It can be considered a union as well, and some of us clearly do not want to be part of a "union".

Just my 02 cents!

NSA's...please file complaints with your local state

SOS, then FTC!

THE NNA AND THE SPW GROUP - Collusion! Check out Collusion Laws! The NNA can be construed as a Cartel!

I'm not joking, I wish I was.

Also file complaints with your local DOJ, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE. This is the ONLY way that the SPW group is going to re-evaluate their objectives, and possibly take down the damn site!

But its going to take ALL OF YOU TO FIGHT FOR THIS!

DO NOT DEPEND ON ONE ORGANIZATION TO FIGHT THIS BATTLE FOR YOU!

DO IT FOR YOURSELF NOW!

Yes, I'm shouting, because this issue is HUGE! If you believe that ANSA or any other organization is going to FIX our NSA issues, you're delusional!

Its going to take us individually to file charges, complaints, with any and all agencies involved, to get this group looked at by an official gov't entity! The more complaints these local departments receive, the BETTER FOR US!

Please, file the respective complaints and let's get this SPeW group off-line!
