NNA Backgound check
(No lectures please) When you order an NNA background check you have to take a 45 question test and you must get 80% correct. Anyone know anything about this? I don't know what the test has to do with the BGC.

Ordered my BGC last month. In order to get my BGC I had to take the Notary Certification Test. You are right, it is 45 questions, most being True/False or multiple choice. No problem, easy enough. You don't have to finish it all at once - you can stop and resume later. You have to score of 80%. If you don't pass it, you can take it again.

The questions are a Signing Agent test. They are re-certifying your signing agent status. Separate thing from background check but I think they lump it together to get you to do and pay for both through NNA.

it's my understanding....
that it's a combo deal. NNA background check and CSA cert. You take the test about loan signings/documents, etc. and get their CSA cert. Package deal is for two years of NNA BGC's. Test has nothing to do with BGC.

Re: it
Took the test and passed. Just curious as to why it was included

NNA has always sold it as a pkg deal. That's why it isn't
just about the BGC. They also "trick" you into taking their certification exam. Glad you passed & hope it helps your business.

It's just a "bait and switch" type of marketing schem
for XYZ to increase it's own profits while at the same time separating even more money from every individual notary they can, imo.
Kinda the reverse of a late night infomercial adding perceived 'extra value' to their deals .... But wait! There's more ... You get a pretty pictured pamphlet .... And if you order today, we'll send you an extra one of these things .... All for Only $9.99 ...
For XYZ it seems to be more like --- BGC offered ... But Wait! ... In order to get what we advertise and have tricked many into believing is THE ONLY acceptable and legally compliant BGC out there ... There's More BS categories and useless sub-set categories you HAVE to join, useless tests to take (all at additional costs of course) besides having to pay & join our organization, before you can even consider ordering The Only BGC that we convinced everyone we could, would be the only thing they should demand of all NSA's .... ...All that for Only (well maybe not only, maybe 'as of this moment' would be closer to and accurate claim to make) $52 + $xx + $xxx + $xxx, etc. ...... AND if you order today, we will continue doing our dead level best (as we have for the past decade or so) to ensure that we do what we can to help decimate this industry so that it will be nearly impossible for you to actually make any real profit or stay in business.
At least that is what it seems like to me. ... jmo

Should have done the BGC right here..
no hidden costs and no tricks...and covers the same things the other one does - in fact, IMO is more accurate.

Did you ask if they accepted NotRot's BGC?
Or did you simply supply them with the one from XYZ without questioning if, or why not, any others?

When asked why they wouldn't accept any other,
what was their response?
I'm curious because I'm willing to bet that many of them that say they do not accept others, don't even have a clue as to why the do not. I have yet to find one be able to tell me why, with a logical, specific, and reasonable answer, that another company's BGC (such as NotRot's) is not acceptable. Meaning, what is it, EXACTLY, that NotRot's (or any other co. besides XYZ) BGC is leaving out, or adding, that makes it "unacceptable"?
If they can not answer that, then, again, why is no other BGC "acceptable"other than XYZ's?
To me, using a company that has been sued several times and had a "oh, well" type of attitude about the errors, such as Sterl..., for incorrect information on a different customer's BGC would seem to be NOT acceptable to me, if I lived in a common sense type of world. But that may just be me.

you all know that the BGC from NNA is done by a third party,
right? You can, I would assume, contact them to get the BGC directly and cut out the middle man. I've not done this, but someone can.

It looks like the Deluxe Package is the right one...not sure...but no pricing listing.
Someone want to call and get a price quote? And ask if its the same price for all that choose this package?

Well...It has already been done and
it will not contain the bogus point system that NNA SPW or whomever devised so having it accepted is questionable.

Re: Well... And WHAT/WHO AUTHORIZES/APPROVES/ALLOWS
XYZ/ SPeW to MODIFY/RATE Driver's license information? Must a SA HAVE a DL to perform the duties as an NSA? Must the SA have an Escalade or a Ferrari to enhance the customer experience? Sounds like more command and control issues that point to an employer/employee relationship versus I.C., and should be part of any such state/ fed review.
