Napoleon Hill said in his classic book "Think and Grow Rich"

"What you can conceive and believe, you can achieve." So, whoever believes that the month is going to be dead before the holidays is going to create that in their minds, period!

What?

If I understand your statement properly. You are saying if I believe that December is going to be sub-par as far as my business goes, it's going to be.

Does it work the other way? Lets say I believe in my mind that the Trailblazers will need a 5'10" somewhat mediocre player to play at the Moda center Christmas week. I should buy new shoes to look my best?

I don't think that new age books should guide your business practices.

This is definitely not "New Age"

This book was written about 70 years ago. Alternatively, there is also "The Power of Positive Thinking" by Dr Norman Vincent Peale and also you might have heard of the concept of a self-fulfilling prophesy if you took Psych 101! Your mind is very powerful! Whether you choose to use it or not!

Overall message: Empowerment

“Thoughts are . . . powerful things when they are mixed with definiteness of purpose, persistence, and a
BURNING DESIRE.” - N. Hill

From what I remember, his son was born handicapped and couldn't hear - something he refused to accept. Eventually, he found a way to interact with the boy by creating a positive environmental message; that message, in turn stimulated the child's ability to function normally.

This is an idea I shared in a business branding guide I wrote a few years ago (before becoming a notary) for inspiring entrepreneurs.

Once “positive-thinking habits are set in our minds, we will
find ourselves taking faster steps toward our goals
and building success upon success in our business.”
'Sister CEO's, Cheryl Broussard calls it a “force of consequence” when Desire and Action (and other traits) are fused together.

In MY book, I call it "the foundation for empowerment as an entrepreneur." Should the idea "guide your business practices?" . . . Well, you gotta start somewhere (remember Winnie the Pooh: "THINK thin . . . thin, thin thin; not sure it ever got him out of the honey tree, But . . . )

It takes just as much energy to think negative thoughts as

it does to think positive (and realistic, Phillip) ones.

Insist on continuously thinking negatively about any/everything and see just how much extra energy that eventually requires. It's not worth it.

Phillip, if you haven't ever had the opportunity to read "Think & Grow Rich", you should, imo. It is also available in audio version. It is well worth the investment.
