North Carolina Notaries - How many are interested

in a Notary Signing Agent network/organization? I've been approached by a few people who would like to set something up. You can PM me your thoughts if you like or for those who have email, that's fine too.

You can visit our state website and see the things we do...

at the Ohio Society of Notaries. we're at www.ohionotaries.org

Also, whatever happened to that big statewide seminar for NC, that Lolita was pushing? It was supposed to be over Thanksgiving weekend, and just wondered if anything came of it.

Thank You. I have no idea what happened with that

as far as I could tell she was marketing for the NNA SPW. Maybe if anyone went they will post it here.

By The Way, Feedback Says it Should be a Notary Public

network, not signing agent. I agree. Now who wants to set it up? Or wait, was someone waiting for me to do that?

All signing agents are notaries, but...

not all notaries are signing agents; only a fraction of notaries in any state will be NSAs.

So I'd suggest you should concentrate on serving all the notaries in your state; your organization will have a much higher membership, and more credibility with your lawmakers, few of whom have any idea what an NSA even is.

Work toward improving your state notary laws (such as that ridiculous travel fee restriction), and providing better state-specific training to enable NC notaries to better protect the public trust. You can have a division of your group for those who also choose to be NSAs, but they are only a relatively small part of your state notary landscape.

Creating and managing a statewide nonprofit organization requires an all-or nothing commitment by the organization's board and officers.

Yes to all. You know we have a North Carolina

Notary Assiciation but they are useless as far as I'm concerned. I'm glad you think our restrictive fees are ridiculousSmile are we the only state with that?
