Power of Attorney with Lawyer Space to Sign

I have a NC MVR63 form for Power of Attorney, that has a signature line explicitly for " lawyer." Does this mean it has to be signed by a lawyer, and if not, the principal or the agent signs??

In NC we have extra rules where we have to record Power of Attorneys with the local County Registers Office.

Did you call DMV? They have a hot line number

It is my understanding that form is to appoint a power of attorney and I don't see a signature line for an attorney to sign. Also I believed our PofA's only needed to be recorded when used in conjunction with a real estate signing. See how much I know. I'd like to know what you find out.

In NC a Power of Attorney should always be recorded. Most hospitals, police, or other entities doing business in the state, require to see a recorded copy.

Called the Hotline as advised to do. An attorney does not actually have to sign there - the agent does. Also, the man I spoke with said this particular POA does not have to be recorded.
