Signing Stream $70 for a refi.....

Proceeds to tell me right away its ONLY 7.6 miles from you and we pay based on how far a closing is from you. Had a little fun and asked how their ratings are on Notary Rotary, she acted like she had never heard of NR. Yeah right!!!
Told her I had just read today they pay in 40-60 days, told her no thanks, thats way to long to have to wait for payment and my minimum is $XXX regardless of how close it is.. She admitted 40-60 days for payment. Why is anyone working for these people????????

Please don't blast me for these comments below.

And they will find someone to do it for that also you can bet.

I know we don't pay the very best fees in this industry, but at least we don't excpect you folks to take the little amount that these other SS ask you to take. I am getting so frustrated with these other SS offering the lowball fees that they do.

We would be ashamed to ask a notry to do such a thing.

No Tony you would not offer such a low amount..And I appreciate that..Sadly NSAs are taking these fees..and hurting everyone else as well as themselves..

They will show up here sooner or later crying about how "U R Stuck Signing Service" stiffed them and to caution us about working for them in the future. I have been seeing this ever since I've been a NSA. It definitely can't be the same person.

Chris called me for an $80 signing. I had to tell him that with SS's reputation for dinging notaries $5, $5 there, $5 everywhere, I'd likely be paid far less than $80, like maybe even $50, because SS doesn't want to be fair with notaries, and they prefer to pay 90 days out.

I wonder what their staffing situation is like. I don't think it can be much fun to work there. Notaries get mad when they aren't treated fairly.

Cheryl, you just touched on a new scam

The SS will offer a fee ($XXX) with the intent to "ding" the notary (with imaginary errors and mishaps) down to $50 - $65. That beats out the SS pretending not to know what type of signing they're offering, then zapping the notary with a 300+ page reverse mortgage. Along with post 33325, someone should compile a list of cons/scams to refer newbies to.

Re: Cheryl, you just touched on a new scam

There isn't much time left for scam artists to do their thing. It will become harder and harder to carry out these capers.

Stay on your toes, everyone, especially you new people who don't know who the real con artists are and how the old ones can creep back up for one last good shot at us this next week when things get crazy for year end closings.
