Square Payment Improvement
I've always had trouble getting the credit card to swipe correctly and gave up and hand put in all the info. This cost more and is takes much more time.
Square sent me their "new and improved holder" and it works like a charm. It's thinner and the connector is longer. I have the Otter cover on my IPhone and that could have been my problem.

Good to know they are giving out new credit card readers. I have had the same problem with swiping with the Square. Always ended up manually putting in the information which of course cost me more. Looked up Pay Pal credit card reader yesterday and they now have the same rates as Square. I did order the Pay Pal reader yesterday but will contact Square because I do like Squares interface.

Yes, if you have any kind of cell phone "skin" or cover, the connector does not go in well. I had the same problem with the Inuit card reader. I got new card readers thinking that was the problem but it wasn't. I finally figured out that if I completely removed the cover cell phone cover, the reader goes into the port fully and the problem is solved.

I tried the Square up credit card reader both ways. With out cover and with cover and it just won't take the card swipe. Just emailed Square up requesting a new card reader. We shall see...

The only problem I've had with mine is when I've swiped the card incorrectly (backwards). I have a skin on my smartphone and that has not been an issue. But, I have had my reader for at least 3 years and it may be time for a new one.
