Tablet vs Laptop - Which do you use most?
I have a netbook, iphone and desktop. I find I'm using my iphone way too much. My eyes are older and my fingers hit the wrong keys. I want to invest in something that I can hang out on the beach, couch or wherever, but also that will fit my business needs. Who better to ask than the people who have the same business needs. Comments Welcome and Thank You

When I'm out and about I use my KindleFire - I LOVE it. My google calender is on it (as well as my phone, and of course my home computer - so I am always looking at the same schedule, if I update one they all update) my phone has a mobile hot spot so my Kindle can be online when needed, and I can read emails on it better than my phone. They now have a larger size Kindle, just be sure to get the one that does not have ads each time you turn it on (it's a few more dollars, but worth it).
Plus, when my signer is late, or I'm early, I can read a book while I wait

Oops. There are the new combo convertibles--tablet/laptop.
I think that's what I'd go with. Everyone is big on the Ipad, but I use Android OS.

I think I'm leaning towards the convertible versions as well
I have an iPhone now, but as soon as I am able I'm going back to android. I'm not a fan of Apple anything when it comes to business use. My iPhone really does function as my mini computer. I can secure docs and carry them with me in case I need to print in the field, or download from a companies website, and I can select and print legal or letter docs to send to my portable printer, but there is no capability to auto print by size. I guess that's the apple thing??? My friend with android says she can do that. But the iPhone is just too small to work on all the time.

I use my Nook a lot - easy portability, same reasons as the Kindle user plus I can read, watch movies, catch up on tv, etc. To answer emails I talk on my phone - voice to text is wonderful.
I have ended up using my laptop as I would a desktop - one place all the time. I don't normally carry it around except to my kitchen. I prefer to sit properly when I type, etc. I think it is too bulky for my lap, uncomfortable. Just preferences on how you will use it. Be thinking about how you will really use it.

I find I am still required to use a laptop for tax return preparation work. I also have a kindle fire tablet for other work. I am not willing to use a Windows 8 device until I feel more secure in using their software

using Win8 since Jan; setup my usual "desktop" to get
around their new "metro" & "features". Works just great. After I navigated my own desktop setup, I found an article describing how to do...what I figured out how to do on my own. Just takes a little extra time, that's all. Probably by now they've streamlined for those who want to have the same desktop look.

Tablet
I have a Nexus 7 (2nd edition) -- it does everything you would want or need. You can move all your books from your kindle account (& still have it on your kindle too). You can eprint from the Nexus 7 also. You can make calls etc. The only con that bothers me is, the tablet seems really delicate & I'm afraid I'm going to drop it (I guess I'm just old and not that up with all the new sizes and technology).
